Hairdryer for curly hair

My trusty Sassoon hairdryer is giving up the ghost after years of faithful service. Does anyone have any recommendations for hairdryers for naturally curly hair? I'm keeping the diffuser attachment that came with it but if anyone has any diffuser recommendations that would be helpful too. The dryer needs to have a removable, cleanable filter - I thought every dryer had one but apparently not!

The Dyson hairdryer with diffuser is the best I have ever used for curly hair, it dries it quickly with no frizz at all. The hairdryer itself is no better than my Parlux 3200 (except for being so much quieter) but with the diffuser, I think its amazing.
Not a cheap option though!

I would love to get the Dyson but I'm not sure I can justify the cost. Better get saving! Thanks for the suggestion.

I have one of these hoods

Paired with a cheap hairdryer that I got from Boots for £15 (let me know if you want the make but it will fit around most - the key is to get one with a cool setting). It works well.

Ooh Zero that looks weird but good!! Is it easy to use?

I've stared drying mine in a kitchen sieve on medium heat. The sieve holds the curls quite close to the head. It's lots better than my diffuser.
Scrunch-sieve till half dry-scrunch- finish drying.
Hardly any movement or handling of the curls

Yes, as long as you have the right hair dryer. I just took the nozzle but off my hair dryer, pulled the elastic attachment over the end (which was a tight squeeze but I got it on), put the bonnet bit over your head, tighten the strings on the bonnet and put the dryer on the cool setting.

The only disadvantage is that it can take a little while to dry as you're using the cool setting to avoid overheating, but it's hands free so you can just read a book or whatever whilst it's on.

There are some YouTube videos of people using it that you might want to search for. You can put your hair in curlers as well if you like and it will fit over them easily (I sometimes do this to get a more defined curl as mine is naturally only about a 2B).

CanIBuffalo what a genius idea, I'm going to give that a go! Grin

I'll head to YouTube Zero for a look, thanks for the suggestion. It looks like one of those things I'd spend ages fiddling with to get it in place and as soon as I turn on the dryer it would zoom off my head Grin

Ha ha. Not once you have it attached to the hairdryer it only takes a minute to put on, and there's a chin strap so no risk of flying off. It does look rather silly, but I don't care!
