Trainers - fashion rather than running for WIDE FEET!

SuttonHooHoo · 20/04/2018 21:57

I love the look of converse but they are (waaaaay) too narrow and also I need some proper support for my feet (bad knee).

Skechers are comfortable but I don’t find them supportive enough, the memory foam lets my feet turn inwards as it is too soft, plus they aren’t great looking shoes!

Any wide fit trainers that aren’t hideous out there? Thanks.

Another one with very, very wide feet (which are also flat with a narrow heel) fitting mast Vans very nicely indeed.

letiziana · 21/04/2018 20:24

simply be do wide fit trainers

SuttonHooHoo · 22/04/2018 09:00

Crayola - I have a pair of those Dunlop ones, they are ok on me but rub a little bit Sad

Thanks for all the suggestions on here, i’m going to try a few of them (thanks for the free postage schuh!)

I have superstars and some pumas both of which are kids fit. ASOS have some cheap and cheerful some widefit too (I have leopard print).

tissuesosoft · 22/04/2018 09:28

I bought these a couple of weeks ago (I have very wide feet) and they fit perfectly, so comfortable, my feet don’t slide and the arch support is great (I have high heel arches)

I have very wide fit and find Superga and Nike the most comfortable. I don't have any issues with converse and am surprised to learn others think they are narrow.
I can't get in New Balance or any Adidas trainers without sizing up massively.

hugoagogo · 22/04/2018 20:07

I tried on a pair of Nike today and they hurt even before I laced them up.Sad
I have found under armour trainers to be very comfy and pretty cheap, but they're not exactly stylish.
Pro keds used to do brilliant wide fitting baseball boots, but now I can't find anywhere that sells them and the odd pair to be found on eBay are in mens sizes and no good for me.

MrsPeacockDidIt · 22/04/2018 22:40

I have very wide feet too. I have in my collection gazelles, Stan Smith (in half size bigger) and new to the party some geox which fit really well. I didn’t get in with superstars as I found them too heavy

Sciurus83 · 22/04/2018 23:03

Adidas

PickAChew · 22/04/2018 23:24

I'm surprised about geox because all the ladies geox I've seen have been incredibly narrow.

PickAChew · 22/04/2018 23:27

And converse have too pointy a toebox for me. That's where I need my width. I have very squared off toes.

crayoladreamz · 23/04/2018 12:04

@ChesterBelloc they are flat inside I'm afraid. But I wear them all the time and always been comfy. You can maybe get insoles off amazon or somewhere you could slip in for support

ChesterBelloc · 23/04/2018 13:08

Thanks, crayons.

Pickachew, check out the Karen Elsa sneakers linked to upthread. They have a very wide toe-box, and look great.

ChesterBelloc · 23/04/2018 13:09

(Crayola, sorry - autocorrect Confused)

CognitiveDissonance · 23/04/2018 13:35

Vans!

ChesterBelloc · 23/04/2018 16:23

Sorry, PickAChew, my autocorrect is being Really Annoying. The brand is Keen, the style is Elsa.

Diamonddealeroncemore · 23/04/2018 20:53

I have reeeeeally wide feet. And bunions as well. I wear Rocket Dog (their canvas shoes are much cheaper on M&M Direct) and Sketcher but not the memory foam ones.

PickAChew · 23/04/2018 21:19

The toe end of those Keens looks perfect, unfortunately the ankle ends right ATVs point where I can't tolerate any rubbing. I need them a little higher and with a cutaway. Or boots!

PickAChew · 23/04/2018 21:20

And my autocorrect spouts garbage, too.

babybatbear · 23/04/2018 21:51

@PickAChew I have the square toes too, finding shoes is a nightmare Sad

babybatbear · 23/04/2018 21:52

Even wide fit shoes never seem to fit and still rub on the toe end Angry

SuttonHooHoo · 24/04/2018 18:51

I love the look of the Keen Elsa ones. Is there anywhere you can go and try them on? Lots of the online stockists have free delivery but not free returns.

hugoagogo · 24/04/2018 19:23

I know cotswolds have some keens it doesn't look like they have the Elsa though. I suppose if you tried on some it might give you some idea of how they fit?

ChesterBelloc · 24/04/2018 23:05

I may have just bought some size 6 Keen Elsa sneakers from Amazon, with Prime and free returns.

I think they're slightly too large for me, unfortunately so I've also coughed up postage for a pair of 5.5s from Keen directly.

IsabelFW · 25/04/2018 08:57

If you have bad knee, maybe need way better support.
Try something like this www.ryderwear.com/kai-greene-signature-d-mak my husband got them few weeks ago and he solve his pain ankle problem... says they are super comfy.
