Ladies arm hair

MyNewAlias · 20/04/2018 20:13

Do all of you ladies remove your arm hair, and if so how ? Do you shave, use cream or some other method? I used hair removing cream as a teen many moons ago, and my hair grew back really dark and thick. I now bleach my arm hair, can't be bothered to keep shaving. What is the preferred method of the majority, or do you keep it natural?

Bought a Phillips Lumea, had them waxed then started blasting with the Lumea. That was last summer, this summer hairless arms and just a quick maintenance treatment monthly. Wish I’d done it years ago

ToftheB · 20/04/2018 20:25

I just leave mine. I’ve never noticed anyone else’s arm hair, and I just assume nobody is noticing mine. Perhaps that’s just blissful ignorance.

ignoringthechoc · 20/04/2018 20:28

What is this obsession with hair removal? When did arm hair start being offensive?
I am having no part of this, just seems daft to me Confused

PiggeryPorcombe · 20/04/2018 20:41

Same as @ToftheB.

I couldn’t tell you about the amount or shade of arm hair of any woman I know.

goose1964 · 20/04/2018 20:42

ignoringthechoc I'm with you all the way, I only shave my legs if my legs will be visible

MyNewAlias · 20/04/2018 21:42

Thank you ladies, I feel reassured now. My body hair is quite dark and I normally leave it natural except in the summer when I bleach it. I just noticed the other day that I seemed to be the only person with visible arm hair. I am not sure if the ladies I was looking at had removed their hair, or if they all had naturally fair hair. I was only looking at other people because mine seemed to be particularly dark , long and coarse. Incidentally I only shave my legs below the knee in summer when they could potentially be on show.

I’m very pale with dark hair, so my arm hair is quite visible. I’ve never thought to do a thing with it. I’ve noticed that most women’s arm hair tends not to be as noticeable as mine, but that still doesn’t make me think of removing mine.

Aria2015 · 20/04/2018 21:49

I trim and then bleach mine. I've been tempted so many times to have them waxed but I'm afraid of how the regrowth would look. If I had the money I'd have them Lasered. Hate having hairy arms Sad

SeratoninIsMyFriend · 20/04/2018 21:50

I find hairless arms very creepy! Arm hair is just normal. I don’t include it with legs and armpits at all.

Moominfan · 20/04/2018 21:57

I tried everything and then accepted I'm not meant to be a hair less wonder. I have dark hair which looks awful as stubble so just leave it and have made peace with it.

Gwenhwyfar · 20/04/2018 22:03

Arm hair is socially acceptable so I just leave it. It does look better if I'm tanned because the contrast between the dark hair and pale skin isn't so bad.

notmaryberry · 20/04/2018 22:09

Mine is quite dark but looks better in the summer with a bit of a tan. I don't do anything to it and I can honestly say I've never noticed any other woman's arm hair.

CamdenTownie · 20/04/2018 22:09

I also have dark arm hair, I don't do anything to remove it either, like the poster up thread I've never noticed anyone's arm hair, although I will admit I'm aware of mine and when the weather is good and my arms are on show I do briefly wonder if others remove it.

I'm just too lazy to bother though.

SmallestInTheClass · 20/04/2018 22:13

I have dark arm hair and pale skin but agree with serotonin that hairless looks strange to me. Can see why women remove it but I just bleach in summer. I do notice other women's arm hair but maybe because mine is so noticeable.

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 20/04/2018 22:14

I have olive skin and dark hair. My arm hair is visible in the winter but in the summer I tan and for some reason the hair goes lighter so it becomes invisible. I am too lazy to bleach and certainly wouldn't remove it - there's nothing wrong with visible arm hair IMO, but each to their own.

rainbowlou · 20/04/2018 22:16

I hate mine and use an epilator to remove it

MerryDeath · 20/04/2018 22:16

I bleach mine. One of my least favourite jobs. The lumea is not effective on it as it's not dark it's just light brown.

AliciaMayEmory · 20/04/2018 22:38

I don't know anyone who removes their arm hair. I would never remove mine as it keeps me warm in the winter Grin and I would imagine shaving or cream removal would be such a chore. I can't say I've ever seen a woman's arm hair and been repulsed.

MyNewAlias · 20/04/2018 22:39

I will not bother to remove mine after your advice, but I may try and trim it with my bikini line trimmer or as my DH calls it ' The hedge trimmer' . I don't do much hair removal down there either!

CoolCarrie · 20/04/2018 23:00

I use my epilator and it has definitely thinned out as my arm hair is dark too.

anon99827 · 20/04/2018 23:04

I started shaving my arms in year 7 because I was so self conscious. I'm white but have very olive skin and dark hair so you could really notice it. I still shave my arms now but only about once a week. Never noticed them getting worse

akhtarz · 20/04/2018 23:10

Epilator too! Painless!

DairyisClosed · 20/04/2018 23:12

Since when is this a thing? Wouldn't it grow back all gross and stubbly?

MissTeri · 20/04/2018 23:13

Never bother with my arms, my arms are hairy but they don't bother me so they can stay. If my hairy arms bother anyone else that's there problem ... now my hairy BIG TOES are a whole other ball game!!

Littleredboat · 20/04/2018 23:13

I’ve shaved mine for years. Pale skin, dark hair and I just didn’t like the look. I do it a couple of times a week when I’m in the shower, takes 30 seconds and so I don’t really get much regrowth.

Each to their own. I don’t like how I feel with most body hair but I have zero interest in what anyone else thinks about theirs!
