Trousers for pears or give up and buy a skirt?

Heading back to work after a year's maternity and while my office is pretty casual (jeans OK) I want to buy a few new things which make me feel/look less like a slob.

Have been trying to find a neutral, plain, pear friendly pair of trousers that aren't jeans but aren't like suit trousers and have really drawn a blank. Any pears out there got any recent trouser purchases they would care to share?

Thanks honeycake by neutral I didn't mean not black necessarily just not pink with yellow spots or bright yellow. I will check those out thanks.

I've pretty much given up on trousers for work, I really struggle to find trousers (also a pear). Have you thought about dresses instead? I love wearing a dress for work, no need to think about coordinating tops etc.

What I absolutely love a dress for the whole outfit in one factor! Not sure why I am looking for trousers really, just for a change maybe.

I found Gap and Phase Eight trousers worked well for me. Gap often have offers on, too. For some reason, I found trousers very difficult/uncomfortable after having a baby but both these brands worked for me. Or Dorothy Perkins Eden jeggings, which sent too jean - like and work with a nice top/ jumper.

I am definitely pear shaped and find jigsaw trousers are really good for me - they are more expensive but last ages (and I machine wash rather than dry clean) and I just find their fit by far the best
I've had other success with M&S autograph trousers (but a couple of years ago) and Joules chinos (I found a style I liked., hepburn chinos I think it was, and bought a couple pairs and dyed them different colours)

Following in the probably forlorn hope that someone can recommend a pair of trousers or jeans for a tall pear. I would literally consider anything other than wide legged cropped which would make me look like I couldn’t find a long enough pair of trousers (alas often the truth)

Peony, would seven for all nations jeans work?

keepmoving · 19/04/2018 23:08

Peony expensive but good fit - LK Bennett trousers. Very ££ bit keep an eye out for sales.

Ooh somehow I missed all the recent responses. Thank you everyone. Lots to try if I can ever make it to the shops without my 3yo and 1yo....

Great! Will look into the jeans and LKB (at sale time!!)

Getting the waistband taken in on trousers that fit on the hips works for me.

Lotsofsausage · 20/04/2018 18:54

Do you mean big butt - small waist? I find that only high waisted styles fit me. Monki are usually good.
