Finding a bra that doesn’t give me the udder look - any recommendations?!

I kitted myself out a few years ago following mumsnet fabulous advice, which revolutionized my underwear and made me look soooo much better and less saggy Grin

But they’ve literally come apart at the seams now (I wear the last one with a Pom Pom tucked into the centre so the underwire doesn’t stab me in the chest! So not a good look!

It’s time to do it all again... please, any advice on what styles / brands would fit my particular chest best would Really Help!

I’m disabled so it’s all internet shopping, as can’t go into a shop and even if I can make it out of the house by some miracle and into a store, taking on and off clothes is torture, and bras are the worst offenders!

Bra Stop was my friend last time, so planning to shop there again... but need to narrow down the styles, so I don’t end up buying a million bras!

So here’s my specific bra err, situation, for anyone who managed to read this far!

Size = 38 GG or 40 ?
I measured 38 and a half inches band width, and could squeeze down to dead on 38 if breathing wasn’t an issue?!

Boob udder issue!...

Basically, my boobs are very (very!) soft and set quite low down my chest (have a long body), so what tends to happen is they get hoisted up (good) but then cut in half (bad!) by bras!

Rather than my cleavage pushing the bra outwards, the bra wins and cuts me in two, squeezing me up over the ‘lip’ of the bra, so I get ‘weird squishy four boob’ look, even on bras that are theoretically ‘my size’...

I bought Fantasie bras last time, Elodie and Sarah styles, but can’t find Sarah this time, and Elodie doesn’t look the same? But maybe that’s because mine have stretched in the wash?

I remember Curvy Kate ones I tried last time didn’t fit...

Any help gratefully appreciated!

As far as I know if you have the 4 boob look then that means the cup size isn’t big enough.
I think bras can definitely lose their supportiveness as time goes on. Is there anyone that could take you to get measured properly?

Yes, your bra is simply the wrong size if this is happening. Trust me - you are not abnormal, you are wearing the wrong bra. Can you get to Bravissimo or John Lewis for proper measuring?

Do not go to M&S whatever you do...

I always buy from Figleaves on-line and I love Fantasy Bras. I have bought Elodie and Belle for years and am a 34FF. Now, have you tried their Balconette Bras rather that the Full Cup, you may find your boobs "sit" in the cups better. I can't wear full cups at all as they cut my boobs in half. Figleaves are great too, as you can easily order several sizes and return those that don't fit. Give them a call if you need extra advice, or do an on-line chat, they are always very helpful. Good luck.

I get this too as my breasts have a lot of tissue in the upper part. You need a plunge bra. I favour the Freya Deco. Or the Bravissimo Satine is softer if you struggle with bras pinching under the arms. It doesn't give as much oomph as the Deco, though.

Yay, replies!

So plunge or balconette are my best bet then?

Goes off to rationalise the £500 shopping basket with some relief...
