Too old for fillers and Botox?

How do you know when you've gone past needing Botox and fillers to look better and nothing less than a face lift will work? I'm old (well over 50) and have recently become very aware of my face looking a lot older and a bit droopy. I'd like to try something to look not necessarily younger but just less tired and better than I look now. Am worried that if I go to any places that they will try and sell me fillers etc that won't really work. Equally am worried that if I go to a plastic surgery place they'll say I need a facelift when I don't yet. Scared of getting ripped off I suppose. How do you know?

I don’t think you are too old, someone who is reputable will tell you what you can/can’t do. They need to be a nurse too not just a beautician that’s done a few days on a course. There are lots of non invasive treatments you could try first before taking the plunge.

Thanks for replying. I just don't know where to start looking for someone but I'll start searching.

Hi there,
I don't think you're too old at all, however, check out Profhilo, it's a newish treatment that is much gentler and looks more natural than Botox and fillers. It's not available everywhere but I had it at Dr Natasha Ranga in Leicestershire, she is amazing. It's around £400, there's 5 injection sites on the face and you have two treatments. The difference is amazing and lasts a year or so. It's just magically smooths everything out without looking fake at all. Before and after shots convinced me.

My friend has had fillers and Botox at 69 and she looks incredible. Best work I've ever seen done. You simply cannot tell. Expensive though!

I've just sent a message to a local practitioner who is also a doctor in a local hospital. Will go for a consultation and see what he says. Excited!
