Hi,
Going to Dubai with 19 month old DD in a couple weeks. Want to get her some shoes suitable for wearing next to the pool/beach.
Any ideas?

She won't really need any but if you must I would get some little jelly shoes

I get flip flops with the strap at the back for the kids. You will need something on her feet as the ground around the pool can get very hot and scorch your feet.

OlennasWimple · 16/04/2018 16:06

Crocs?

kaytee87 · 16/04/2018 16:17

I bought my toddler water shoes and they were great. Kept his feet protected on the beach etc.

GinAndToast · 16/04/2018 20:18

You definitely need something! The sand and paths are getting too hot now and will be worse in a few weeks. They'd burn the soles of feet.

The kids that live there that can't cope with flip flops yet wear crocs or jellies or something like that

Definitely take a couple of cheap pairs of something and only allow bare feet in the sea/pool.

I went in Feb - I put my toddler in crocs sandals. Very light. But be careful if they have podgy feet the button thing on the side can rub sometimes.

I’d go for a beach shoe. The neoprene has new that you can get from sports direct etc flip flops and crocs can be very sloppy in the right surface, these are great and can be worn in the sea etc. They dry really quickly too

JoJo Maman Bebe do beach shoes which are Velcro and have a wetsuit material top and a grippy sole so little ones don't slip. DD had a pair at that age. They dry out fast and because of the Velcro you can get them to fit properly.

Hotuna from sports direct, they are neoprene. Get some for yourself too.

I used to put my children in jelly shoes when they were younger for Dubai holidays. The sand can be burning hot there

Pediped Sahara are good.

We ve just been and my 3 yo wore sea salt sandals. They are gorgeous. They are water resistant. She also wore them in day and night.

For those saying she won't need any- she will. The ground gets very hot in the height of the day.

Also, quick addition. Be careful with pool type shoes and check the sole. On some of them it’s only fabric with a bit of non slip on which still allows too much heat through.

Thanks for the tip @GinAndToast
