Does anyone only wear cruelty free makeup?

And if so, what brands do you wear?

I've been researching into cruelty free makeup for a while and today I've decided to try and only purchase cruelty-free makeup. I've started by ordering the Kat Von D primer and foundation. What other brands are good? Never had anything from Too Faced so I'm going to try them as well. I'm not going to lie, I've got L’Oreal and MAC products that I already own that I'll be using up first. Also, Urban Decay; do people who only use cruelty-free makeup use Urban Decay? It's cruelty free but is owned by L’Oreal so is that a no-go? TIA Smile

I love ABH so I'm glad they're cruelty free!

I do. Personally I don’t mind buying from cruelty free companies that have parent companies that test/sell in China. I think it shows a market for cruelty free to the parent company.

Charlotte Tilbury is fab, Too Faced is fab (especially the Better Than Sex mascara) I also like GOSH, Morphe, Glossier, Hourglass. If you haven’t found the website Logical Harmony yet, that’s a brilliant resource.

Oh, and definitely use up what you have first. Nothing to be gained by wasting it.

NYX is another a use a lot.

I don't look out for cruelty free make up but it is a plus when I'm considering what I'm going to buy.

Urban Decay and Body Shop are also cruelty free brands.

Thank you! A bit gutted that NARS are no longer cruelty free. Am I right in thinking that Jeffree Star is?x

Just had a little look at drugstore brands- it seems that only Barry M, Superdrug's own, MUA and MUR are cruelty free. That's from Superdrug though, I'm not sure of Boots have any other ones that are cruelty free.

I thought all EU makeup was cruelty free - is it not?

LoniceraJaponica · 13/04/2018 14:03

Another vote for The Bodyshop who are no longer owned by l'Oreal. They have gone back to their cruelty free roots, and have introduced a vegan friendly range of products as well.

Illamasqua are great. Love their nail varnish, eye shadow and lip gloss.

ELF is a brilliant brand. It's very cheap but the quality is brilliant and it's an easy option to get all the basics.

Primark make up is also cruelty free. It's good too - just look at some reviews online.

The Two Faced Better Than Sex mascara is really good. I bought a mini from eBay to try it and will be buying the big version next.

Any recommendations for foundation? Replacing my much loved Revlon ColourStay soon with cruelty free and don't know what to do for.

If you can get Australis, they're an Australian cruelty free brand and do a great blusher.

CaptainWarbeck · 13/04/2018 14:20

ELF primer is good. I don't rate their blusher or foundations.

TheHoundsofLove · 13/04/2018 14:32

M&S makeup is BUAV approved and excellent. In fact, their entire own brands cosmetics range is fab!

BluePony · 13/04/2018 14:55

tortellini makeup produced in the EU is cruelty free but makeup brands that sell to countries such as China are not as they require animal testing in their countries, so if they sell there, they test on animals.
