If my skin is reacting slightly to a product, is there anything I can use first to help?

I've been using the Erborian BB cream off and on for a while, and I really like it. but I've had itchy skin - again off and on, and never very consistently, and I react to a few things, so it's never very clear what sets it off - but I'm beginning to think it might be that.

Is there any other cream/moisturiser or anything that I could put on first, especially around my eyes, that would act as a bit of a barrier? It's only a mild sort of reaction, if it is to that.

I don't really use anything else on my skin - either no makeup, or that. No other creams or moisturisers or anything, except occasional Aveeno after a shower. I take a lot of antihistamines already for things like unexplained itching. But this seems a little more specific to my face and especially around my eyes, and I think it's more common when I am wearing the Erborian BB cream, especially a few days in a row.

thanks for any suggestions.

I got that around my eyes from a B.B. cream so I had to stop using it

The pharmacist I went to see (it got really red) suggested Vaseline under my eyes which really helped

But I’ve not found that I can use the B.B. without it happening again so I’ve had to bin it.

Bitter and painful experience has taught me that if my skin reacts to anything then I should stop using it straight away. Sorry.

Try a bb from La Roche Posay, Bioderma or Avene. My skin reacts to a lot of products but I never have problems with these brands

OK thanks. I have tried a variety of others, and they're OK, but just didn't really like them that much, whereas I did like the consistency of this one

Mostly I just go without anything at all, and look fairly awful, so this was my one concession to trying to look a bit more put together! It was easy enough and seemed to stay on.

With allergies generally, I often have a drippy nose and am wiping it hundreds of times a day, so anything do put on is often wiped off, leaving me with a red nose anyway. Guess I should just embrace the no-makeup, blotchy red look!! I used to go without anything for 3 or 4 days a week, and then try to put something on for the others where I might be seeing people.

I might try the vaseline at least and see if it helps at all.
