Hairdryers

So, I am in desperate need of a new hairdryer so I am looking for recommendations Smile

Does anyone have the Dyson hairdryer - pros/cons/worth the price?

Although I'm curious to see know if the Dyson is worth the price, price isn't an issue. I would be happy to spend that much if it's worth all of the hype, but if there is an amazing dryer for less, let me know.

I have longish hair (between should and boob length) it's fine but I have lots of it. It can easily frizz but is naturally straight and at the moment I blow dry straight and then run the straighteners over to smooth it

I bought the Dyson off qvc as they have a good returns policy (30 days no questions asked) I sent it back within a week... absolutely not worth the money IMO. I've got thick wavy hair and it took ages to dry... I bought a parlux one and it's amazing , so powerful

I bought one direct from Dyson. It costs the same as QVC but no P&P and if you want to return it they send a courier to your house to collect at no cost to you. If you buy it from QVC you have to pay the cost of returning it.

I didn't get on with it. It didn't seem significantly quieter or more powerful than a normal dryer. It did make my hair very soft, straight and silky but the downside of that was it had no volume, movement or root lift, all of which are important to me. After experimenting with various brushes, products and techniques I gave up and returned it.

My student DD was devastated - she loved the soft, straight silky results it gave. So much so that for her birthday she asked everyone for Boots gift cards. Between us, her siblings, godparents and grandparents and a couple of mates she eventually accumulated the necessary £300 in gift cards to buy her very own Dyson which she cherishes.

Hmm, not great then.
I have almost enough advantage points to get it from boots, hence not being worried about the cost but I don't want to get it for the sake of it if it's not that great
