Split ends. Hairdresser technique?

Bit of a boring post.

I had my hair cut a few weeks ago by a trainee and the amount of split ends I have now are horrendous. It's not just at the ends though it's all the way up into my hair.

Could this be the cutting technique used?

I'm seriously thinking I'm going to have to get my long past my shoulders hair cut short. It's never been like this before but my old stylist left and I used the trainee.

Anyone?

IMO, it's very unlikely it was the cutting technique. Did the trainee blow dry it too? A bad blow dry can cause a LOT of damage.

Not sure but, I found that when my hairdresser used a TangleTeezer on my wet hair she started at the top 😐. It dragged its way through my hair (bra strap length) and I now find I have broken bits on my top, colour treated bits so that at just lower than ear length, I have frizzed “layers”. I use a tangle tweezer GENTLY and always in sections from the bottom up. I fucking livid!

Watching, OP. Hoping for tips as I really don’t want my hair cut in a long bob again.

Yes she did blow dry it. That would make more sense. I have splits all the way up to the root. I can literally feel my hair is damaged.

My hair has lots of split ends since the last cut. I’ve realised that My hairdresser mentioned at the time of cutting that she was about to get new scissors as she couldn’t get her current ones sharpened anymore. I think hers were blunt and that’s what’s caused it Hmm

That's not good Paddington.

Olaplex can repair heat damage as well as colour damage. My hair is much, much improved since using it.

You can buy it in single doses on ebay if you don't want to splurge on the full kit. I did about four applications about a month apart before I noticed a difference, and then I was totally wowed - shiny hair for the first time in years!

Which Olaplex? I notice there are 3 to choose from
