Prom dress advice for dd who hates blingy, sparkly, big fat gypsie wedding or overly girly dresses

DD (size 8-10 so can wear most things and they will fit well) is struggling to find something to wear for prom. We looked at the online stock of a nearby shop that specialises in prom wear and she hated everything. She would like something a bit different and no body com stuff because she thinks they are too anatomical. Any advice would be much appreciated

Unfortunately I am in no position to help her as I have little interest in fashion

How about a hellbunny dress if she want something quirky?

I think this is lovely OP but maybe a bit too girly for her? Will keep looking

There are loads of jumpsuits out there this year perhaps she'd find something appealing by ditching the dress?

Some excellent suggestions - thank you all

I’d look for a jumpsuit with heels. Mango and whistles have some lovely ones.

Tuxedo, black cigarette pants, white shirt, black bow tie?

DD wore a black sheath dress from TKMaxx, it ha beading but because they are black too it's not in your face ( more like Victorian jet beads)

I would offer it to you but it's a 6

ASOS is a brilliant one stop shop for party wear, a lot of recent prom pictures I’ve seen look nothing like what I wore way back when! They have such a huge range, it might take a while to trawl through, but you might find a gem as some retailers on ASOS aren’t so mainstream.

Have you had a look in Zara? They do some real nice, classy plain wear. I don’t think prom requires big flashy dresses, my cousin wore a lovely deep blue Karen Millen, knee length tea dress to hers – wasn’t blingy or sparkly at all!
