Which products/styling tools do you use please? Mine is cropped short, shaved with clippers at the back and sides, with shirt layered fringe pushed ro one side. It looks great when I leave the house but as though I've just washed and left it after I've been out for 10 minutes. Any recommenations/ tips/pics? Thanks

I just give it a squirt with hair spray while it is still wet. That's it. No other tools or products.

Thanks for replying, trouble is my hair is pretty strong willed and sticks out/up without some coaxing so I wouldn't want to spray my 'mad scientist' look into place. Envy you your low maintenance hair though! Maybe i need to go even shorter...

Perhaps look for a hairdresser who is really good with short hair. I don't use any product at all and it stays where it's meant to be, but my hairdresser spends an hour cutting it so that it works with the direction it grows, the shape of my head etc.

I just blast mine briefly with a hairdryer then put some wax in to break it up and give it more texture (can look a bit helmet-like otherwise!).

I use this stuff

They do lots of different ones with different levels of hold (mine sets pretty solid - I have a short pixie cut)

gives a good review of the different products

Kevin Murphy Easy Rider for me. There are others in the range that have other properties but I find Easy Rider good for shaping, and calming down. Mine is cropped pretty short and I like a slightly messy look but you can do neat with this too. What I really like about it is that if you don’t use much your hair stays put without it being obvious there’s any product on it.

Oooh thanks everyone..Just realised that I've got some tigi root boost somewhere, as recommended by a pp, will dig that out and have a look at all the others mentioned. Thanks all Smile

I have two different products which I like (I only use one at a time!) Frizz Ease serum or Lee Stafford argon oil serum.

I also use this for styling sometimes: www.amazon.co.uk/HairPlay-KMS-California-Dry-150ml/dp/4159852629/ref=sr_1_15_a_it?keywords=spray+hair+wax&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1523532305&sr=8-15

FML I've just seen the price! I'll have to start locking it away (I'm sure I didn't pay that much?).

I use this moulding wax to give it more texture, really recommend it.

TSSDNCOP · 12/04/2018 12:33

Salt spray then when dry Tony and Guy soft wax.

joystir59 · 12/04/2018 12:34

Nothing here but hair has natural texture, wave

ChipInTheSugar · 12/04/2018 12:36

VO5 gum works quite well for mine (pretty short though)
