Hard water area but want soft water hair

Recently went on holiday to a soft water area. The affect on my hair was dramatic. I have shoulder length thick and wavy hair. As I've got older (now 50) it has grown courser and frizzier and is rarely sleek.
While on holiday my hair just hung so beautifully in soft (for me) waves. It looked healthy and natural and much more like my hair did when I was younger.
Anyone know of any product to help achieve soft water hair?!
TIA

Fit a water softener?

I’m just back from holiday in a hard water area, and I thought my hair was much less frizzy. I’m the same age as you, and my hair is out of control. House swap? Wink

AgentProvocateur haha! Maybe it's like when you change shampoos and it's all lovely to start with? Just needs a change of water?!

I have had a water softener installed and still haven’t got my shampoo/conditioner regime sorted. My hair is mid length and very fine and is now greasy within a few days.

What's your hair routine. Used to have same problem. And then I discovered the magic of professional hair masks. I also find it that supermarket bought shampoo doesn't do my hair any good. It took me years to accept this but now that I changed my habits, I can see the difference.

I feel your pain :( Stayed at my friends house up North for a week recently and had beautiful soft manageable hair. Then went back home to my hard water area and now it's both flat AND frizzy again.
