My mum is away in Tokyo at the moment and offering to bring me some stuff back.
What products would you recommend?

Already on my wishlist are the hado labo gokujum hyaluronic solution, mizon snail repair cream, innisfree green tea sleeping pack and mizon good night sleeping mask.

I've heard etude house are a good brand too but don't know any specific products.

I'm early 30's with dehydrated skin, also prone to dryness.

All recommendations gratefully receieved Smile

Mekiba Moist Lotion - hydrating Toner
LuLuLun sheets masks
Melano CC spot treatment - Vit C
Heroine Mascara - apparently amazing
Canmake Tokyo Mermaid Skin Gel SPF50 P++++
Rosette Ceramide Gel and/or Meishoku Ceracolla Perfect Gel

Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner is wonderful - Korean but probably available. If your budget allows, I'd get the moisture Ampoule and Nutrition cream as well.

Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion or Cezanne Moist lotion are two others.

I have the Hada Labo lotion it's good but according to Amazon the premium one is better. Also sheet masks are v good. If you can get a good BB cream that matches your skin tone that would be a good buy. I personally wouldn't buy one online without trying it first. Think they're better for pale skins.

Japanese and Asian girls in general tend to go lighter than their skin tones with make up, so often concealers / foundations can’t be found in as wide a range of colours as the UK. I personally would steer clear or BB creams and stock up on essences and vitamin C /Retinol / collagen sheet masks. As many as your mum can fit in her bag!

bagel that toner sounds interesting, I'm all about the hydration! Have to admit that I don't actually use toner at the moment, what exactly does it do?

Going to have to look into those gels too.

destiny's yes, the premium one is the one I was thinking of, turns out my mum is using that range herself at the moment so will prob def pick me up some.

I know sheet masks are really popular and when I've used them they have seemed good and hydrating BUT I really don't like the way they feel! I usually scrape the gel off and apply to my face without the sheet part but maybe that reduces the effect? Is there a way of making me enjoy sheet masks? Or should I just get over it lol

I was thinking sleeping masks may do a similar job but a nicer feel?

It's a hydrating toner with very minimal ingredients (which is why I chose it, as my skin is/was generally sensitive/reactive).

Several layers hydrates the skin like you wouldn't believe. It calms, soothes and balances, just makes everything feel better! When I first started using it, my skin would drink up many, many layers. Now I use about 3, then a couple layers of another toner (Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin).

Beauty and Seoul (in the UK) sell a 100ml bottle for £9.50 but you can get 200ml for about £11 from Yesstyle but have to wait longer, of course. The whole Pyunkang line looks lovely, tbh. If money was no object, I'd get the Nutrition cream, moisture ampoule and balancing gel as well.

Lots of recommendations here.

I have the original Hada Labo toner and I really like it. It's not a toner in the British sense, ( ie to remove the last vestiges of make up ) you are supposed to put it on after cleansing and then add serum and moisturiser. I have sensitive skin and it doesn't have anything in it that irritates my skin. I've nearly finished it so am going to get the premium one soon! 😀
