Pjs for 14 yr old dd

My dd (14 yrs, women's size 8-10, slight build, slightly above average height) is going on a school trip soon and I wanted to buy her a couple of pairs of new pjs for the occasion.

Cannot find anything suitable! She doesn't want anything with bunnies or unicorns on, I don't want to buy her anything too adult, nor do I want anything too cheap/made of nylon/too old fashioned.

I've looked at at least 10 on-line shops (has to be on-line because we live in Europe zone 1) without success. A lot of the styles I like have sold out.

Any ideas wise mumsnetters pls? Never thought such a simple thing would be so difficult to find!

Next?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/04/2018 20:33

Mine is nearly 16 (size 6-8 and 5'7") and loves Victoria Secret Pink (they are eye wateringly ££ but really soft and good quality)

She has some Uniqlo shorts and built in bratop vests for Summer (no unicorns )

Would your DD be better with loose jogger type bottoms and a light sweatshirt, ? Does she need war, cosy or light airy?

Lastoftheusernames · 07/04/2018 20:34

H&M?

AlishaMary · 07/04/2018 20:35

Boden

misslomi · 07/04/2018 20:38

Another vote for H&M! I’ve got some on now, leggings and an oversized jumper combo. They’re a good price (around £15) and very comfortable but still look nice Smile

youarenotkiddingme · 07/04/2018 20:43

Was also going to suggest letting type with a plain best top and oversized fluffy jumper type too that can be removed for sleeping (o get too hot so I also remove mine)

H and M have great ones and so do next.
I also find Tesco etc do good sets but probably hard for you to order online?

Gap

Caulk · 07/04/2018 20:46

Fat face.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 07/04/2018 20:47

Asks have good sets, a few are a bit "I need coffee" or #bridesquad but most are nice. They start at size 8 and they have lots of different sleeve and trouser lengths.

charityhallet · 07/04/2018 20:49

Sainsburys!

VioletCharlotte · 07/04/2018 21:04

Primark have about a million different designs.

NC4Now · 07/04/2018 21:06

Fatface pyjamas are the best. So cosy and well made.

JackietheBackie · 07/04/2018 21:10

I second Fat Face. Lovely quality, nice designs.

Abetes · 07/04/2018 21:11

Gap are brilliant for this.

CallarMorvern · 07/04/2018 21:12

12yr old DD is an adult size 10-12 and still finds M&S kidswear PJs still fit, they have some nice long john style sets. Otherwise Primark, where she goes for the Harry Potter ones. My issue is with the sets that are shorts, the shorts are always indecent.

DD for her school residential took thin joggers and tees to sleep in, these could then double up as extra daywear if needed.

Shinycantle · 07/04/2018 21:29

Yowza! Thank you so much for all these responses everyone!

You've all managed to find much nicer ones than I did!!

Really appreciate it - thank you - think the credit card is going to take a battering tonight!

Primark? If you wade through all the Disney / unicorn designs there's some lovely plain ones. I have some cotton blue and white pinstriped ones that are nice. And they have lovely brushed cotton button up styles that are super soft.

ASOS pyjamas are the bee's knees!

Shinycantle · 07/04/2018 21:41

And thank you for the suggestions/tips about joggers and plain t-shirts btw - really sensible advice!

Will report back when I've had a virtual rummage!

Thanks again for yet more ideas!

Think I must have been locked in a cupboard for the last decade, as I haven't heard of half of these brands!

Just to report back - thank you again - I looked at all the suggestions and a lot of the sizes 8-10 were already sold out. In the end however, I went for a combination of Next and Gap.

Really liked these from Esprit here but again all sold out sadly.

OP posts:
Shinycantle · 08/04/2018 14:39

But looking at Esprit pjs again... perhaps just as well sold out ...owing to ££££££.

Oh I see you have bought. I was going to say Tesco, they do 100 cotton pjs with little t shirt tops, pretty designs and can usually find ones without bunnies, kittens or soppy sentiments.
