Please.

After deciding not to bother buying a new dress for my cousin's wedding, I caved. However, it's a kind of grey green and I have no idea what to wear with it. I like contrasting, bright colours, but hsve no idea. Jacket wise, i have white, black, navy and erm, beige. Have a green leather one...

A deep purple or fuchsia pink might look quite cool!

peonylover22 · 05/04/2018 15:08

What about a coral?

Orchidflower1 · 05/04/2018 15:14

I think fushia would look nice too. Maybe a pretty cardigan rather than a jacket if you don’t want to add to the expense and you’re more likely to rewear a cardigan in fushia than a jacket. Hard to pick a jacket colour from your existing collection as may depend on style. Not beige though.

I wondered about coral. Got a coral bag but has gold accents. It's end of July, but that doesn't always spell warm.

Bolero or proper cardi? Got sparkly grey sandals - might be able to see in pics.

Where’s it from? You look lovely.

PurpleDaisies · 05/04/2018 15:17

I’d go with a proper cardigan but mainly because I think boleros look daft.

Thesadmilkman · 05/04/2018 15:20

A shawl? The blue on this is slightly brighter than on the pic.

Asos tall. Had to search! Thanks. I'm too old to feel like a princess, so I'm going fairy godmother.

I’d go for a proper cardigan rather than a bolero. Two options: a close fitting snuggly one, or a boxy cropped one.

Thesadmilkman · 05/04/2018 16:32

It'll have to end above the waist cos of the fluffy bit. My jackets were clutching at straws a little- they're work ones.

Deep turquoise would work wouldn't it? And i could keep the sparkly shoes.

I’d go proper cardigan too. I always think bolero are for winter weddings for bridesmaids or for day to day little girls. Deep tourquoise would look lovely. The shoes in the picture are nice too and if you’ve worn them before will save risk if blisters etc.

Thesadmilkman · 06/04/2018 09:14

Trouble is, a cardi ending in the wrong place will spoil the look of the dress. Wish I had a crystal ball to see the weather on the day.

A fushia Pashmina would be good less mumsy than a cardi

Stormwhale · 06/04/2018 18:44

I would go for something with a pattern or you risk looking a bit too much like a bridesmaid.

IWouldLikeToKnow · 06/04/2018 18:44

Yep, you'll do well to find a cardigan that stops in the correct place. If your green leather is a biker type it might work if it's short enough. It would take away the "pretty" from the dress if that's a look you like.

mumblechum0 · 07/04/2018 00:25

That’s a beautiful dress op, where’s it from?

BennyTheBall · 07/04/2018 00:28

It's lovely, but looks like a bridesmaid's dress.

I can't think any sort of jacket would go.

MrsGloop · 07/04/2018 00:29

I agree - lovely but a bit bridesmaid.
