Beauty treatments at toddler groups.

Just wondering if having a mobile beauty service who would come to your mother and toddler groups every couple of weeks would be used?

I know a lot of mums who struggle to get time for themselves so wondered whether this would be a service that mums would use?

Treatments would be nails, brows, lashes, tans. Therapists would be qualified and insured. Products would be kept out of reach of children.

no it sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. toddler groups are chaotic enough without beauty treatments xx

KalaLaka · 05/04/2018 12:10

No, as parents need to supervise their own children while they're there. Would also be nagged by unhappy toddler to come and play! Anywhere with a crèche rather than a playgroup: yes.

KalaLaka · 05/04/2018 12:11

I would also hate the smell of the products (pregnancy related aversion), and worry about children breathing in nail varnish related fumes, etc.

welshgirlwannabe · 05/04/2018 12:12

Arggh no! How would that work? I'm lucky if I can manage to get a cup of tea down with no incidents. Tbh that's not what toddler groups are for.

NerrSnerr · 05/04/2018 12:21

It wouldn't want this, one good thing about toddler groups is that they're a cheap activity and I wouldn't want to feed pressure to spend money on something like this.

DanceDisaster · 05/04/2018 13:00

No, I also think it would be a disaster (sorry). If my toddler was well enough behaved for me to have a spray tan while she waited patiently, then I’d just take her with me to a salon. As it is, there’s no way. She’d go bananas and someone else would end up having to deal with her if I was practically naked in a tanning booth. Who would that someone else be? Another random mum? Not very fair.

Caroline680 · 05/04/2018 13:00

we used to have it - I loved it
YOu would pair up with another mum to watch the kids

DanceDisaster · 05/04/2018 13:01

There are some leisure centres where I live which have crèches. Maybe there? I could theoretically leave my dd in crèche, have a swim / gym / class, then shower and have spray tan.

Mulberrysilk · 05/04/2018 14:29

It's a nice though but it's not any easier than bringing the kids to a salon. It all sounds really stressful.

Totally awful idea. Toddlers or at least mine finds the most dangerous thing to do in a room in seconds. Me being distracted having a beauty treatment would be awful. Plus its nice taking time out to go somewhere where you can’t hear screaming.

DairyisClosed · 05/04/2018 14:36

Have you ever been to a toddler group? The children will be fighting a full on war within five minutes without supervision. Unless you are proposing to simultaneous babysit your ckiebts' toddler.

worry about children breathing in nail varnish related fumes

Oh please...

thetellingerror · 05/04/2018 15:32

We did this at someone's house when the kids were babies - I reckon it would be a bit more ambitious with toddlers!

squiglyline · 05/04/2018 16:31

Thanks for the feedback.

I would never paint my nails with a baby in the room. Would you? Can't be great for tiny lungs.
