One eyebrow raised after Botox.

I had Botox last Saturday. Just in my forehead creases. I’m mainly very pleased with the results BUT one eyebrow has lifted more than the other.

Will the other one catch up? It’s not massively noticeable but it’s annoying me. They did say it could keep tightening for two weeks but is it likely to even out in the next week or not?

I've been having Botox for 4 years with great results. All of my incredibly deep frown lines are gone, and it's prevented crows feet from developing. I'm 38, but feel happier in my skin condition than I've ever done.

However I go to a well respected Aesthetics clinic where the clinician is actually an ex GP and anaesthetic specialist. She teaches all over the world in various techniques.

I did actually get one raised eyebrow the very first time I had it. She fixed it at the two week mark, and I've never had a problem since.

Don't let the horror stories put you off. Just do your research and go to a specialist with a good reputation - not a dentist or beauty therapist.

cloudtree i have had botox several times before, and i know it doesnt [or shouldnt hurt]
I am not trying to put anyone off, just to say be careful,
I didnt know until after this that anyone who administers botox ,by law shpuld be a prescriber too, which means if anything goes wrong it can be corrected straight away
Ask if yor nurse or Dr is a prescriber, thats all im saying, there are a lot of people here giving botox, and im sure most of them are not prescribers too

I've just had my first one done. I went to specialist skin / cosmetic place but in a poorer area so it wasn't expensive (£145). Absolutely brilliant.
Talked through my medical history, what I was trying to achieve etc. Took some photos, had a frown or two and three injections. Went back after 2 weeks and he topped me up. He noted I had very strong muscles ( lots of frowning in my job).
I have heavy lids but both seem a little higher now. In fact only one person has said anything and that was about them looking good.

cloudtree i think i have as much right to post about my experience,as anyone, and i am glad that most people have good experiences, but not everyone knows what the law is on botox especially, so a warning to be careful thats all, and saying things CAN go wrong with the needle in the wrong hands

I didn't say you couldn't, just that it was "a little unfair" given that instances like yours are so rare.

lovemylover · 10/04/2018 07:08

It might be rare but it happens.and people should be aware and check out who they are seeing.

Botox should only be done by a properly trained dermatologist. I personally would steer clear of ‘beauticians’ offering injectibles because then it has the potential to go horribly wrong.

She wasnt a beautician, she was a registered midwife, but should have been a nurse prescriber,or had a Dr or prescriber in with her
The raised eyebrow wasnt my complaint, they are often raised it was a droopy eyelid and bruised eyes and nose, she put the injection in the top of my nose, not between brows
For anyone worried yes its very rare, but only because it was done wrongly
Wont happen to most people,
