Body con dresses?

I've got a big night out coming up and I want to look good for once. Trying to step out of my comfort zone of jeans but all I'm seeing is bloody bodycon dresses!

I have 'shaping' pants at the ready, but can big boobs and a squashy, slightly portly (I do mean slightly) tummy. Will I be able to pull it off?

Try shaping pants, a bodycon skirt and looser top. You get the flattering skimming over the bumps but the tighter skirt shows some shape.

I’m the same (weird?) in that I am hourglass with a defined waist in front and rear view but have an Apple stomach in side view. Not massive but there, and I know it. I have good legs. Not being conceited- I have done nothing to gain such limbs, they just came with the package.

I would not wear bodycon such as bandage dresses- because my body confidence is not that great (I really don’t care what anyone else wears- and would never say you can’t because of size or shape or whatever, it’s purely personal) but I do tend to suit more tailored styles.

Why not hit us with your budget/preferred colour etc and we can throw some dresses at you!

That would be amazing! Thank you!

Budget - cheap. Realistically, I will not get much wear out of it.

Colour - black, black and black.

I'll admit, I've been looking at the slightly more, ahem, revealing dresses. I'm still only young, so apparently can get away with it Hmm

Ooh strange as I also have great legs. They are bigger than I would like them to be at the moment but still relatively shapely but when I am a size 12, they are easily my best feature!

Will link to a couple of dresses I have my eye on...

navy one

wrap and skater in one

Pencil skirt and floaty top? That used to be my fail safe look in my 20's - finding that trickier to pull off in my late 40's!

Theromanempire · 29/03/2018 19:27

my personal fave

If none of these float your boat, take a look at Dorothy Perkins yourself as they have tons of dresses in all different patterns and styles!

I am an apple shape. I have a couple of this style of dress and get a lot of compliments when I wear it.

I can just about wear one when I am not overweight but inot when I am carrying excess weight as I look pregnant. I had a great peplum wiggle dress than hid all my faults so it can be done.

foolserrand · 29/03/2018 21:02

Thanks for the links, I'm not loving Dorothy Perkins at the moment.

I was looking at things like this. Is there anything similar that I'd feel good in?

Size 10, young, great legs?

Wear whatever the fuck you want OP.

A good rule is to also look in a full-length mirror when you are sitting down. I'm an apple shape and would never get away with a body con dress. Plus I don't like them.

Cece - i agree that style is great for and apple - itbis the v that makes all the difference. Bloody high round necks make me look like a barrel!
