Hi, we're visiting family in Chester over Easter, and thinking of a trip to Cheshire Oaks outlet. Do you have any recommendations for things worth getting there? I know it's part of McArthur Glen, but was wondering if there are any great shops. Thank you :)

Googling Cheshire Oaks outlet will give you a list of the shops...

I got a beautiful Armarni hand bag from the Armarni outlet there. Had it two years and still looks fab. Also got a summer dress from monsoon reduced from £70 to £10 It’s washed beautifully and is my favourite. Get there early tho because parking can be a pain

I bribe the children with build a bear if we make it round. There's a good playground too.

It isn't as good as it used to be, especially now some retailers make stock for their outlet stores. I've had good footwear (leather uggs and work shoes mainly) and decent denim from gap.

I haven't been for a long time but think they still have the Cadbury outlet shop. It's not massively discounted but you can get big bags of misshaped chocolates which I like.

I think I last went about 11 years ago and went to the paper mill shop. Filled up an A4 and an A5 box with paper and card of my choice. I make all my husbands birthday, Easter, anniversary etc cards using these and still haven't ran out (he was my boyfriend back then). Don't remember much else about the place apart from lots of clothes shops.

Have fun!

The Papermill shop was my favourite. I miss it. I like the Cosmetics store, Pro-cook and Thorntons. I have also bought bargain UGGs and Skechers there x

Oops. Ignore the unmumsnetty kiss above. I have been texting DD and am still in kiss mode.

Definitely get there early because the parking is horrific.

There are a good mix of shops and I've had bargains recently in Ralph Lauren, Mulberry and Armani. It's not as upmarket as Bicester, but plenty of designer labels.

Like any outlet, worth checking they're genuine bargains because they buy special stock in, and there have also been times when I've checked a price and found it cheaper online elsewhere.

Loads of restaurants (busy), couple of play areas if you have dc, plenty of loos.

You can get a discount card from their information point that will give you 10% off in certain shops.

There's another retail park very nearby, walking distance, with - amongst other shops - a truly massive M&S.

Coach outlet. There's also a shop whose name I have forgotten with a huge range of nail polish from various brands, including essie, at great prices.

You definitely need to get there early or be prepared to queue, it gets absolutely crazy over the bank holiday weekend. Walk all the way around if you can, bargains can be found in shops you wouldn't necessarily go in. There are plenty of food places if you need a drink or want to stop for lunch. There's also an enormous M&S about 5 minutes away with an amazing deli section and huge cosmetics dept.

It will be busy!

Thanks everyone, very useful info :)
