Small, saggy, uneven breasts

LittlemsNoBoobs · 24/03/2018 16:26

Sorry for thread title!

I have been unwell this past year and lost a lot of weight. I have kind of been ignoring my breasts but now summer is approaching and I'm painfully aware that I have none. Well I have one small one, doesn't fit in my old DD bra but I tried on an A cup yesterday and that fit on side, but the other one is too small for an A. They are just loose, saggy and horrible. I haven't been wearing a bra and have lived in baggy jumpers this winter but when it starts to get warm I don't really want my uneven breasts on display. I've even started looking at plastic surgery...but that isn't a path I really want to go down. Are there any other options?

Yes, have a look at gel bras, I think they may sell them in Debenhams or John Lewis.

LittlemsNoBoobs · 24/03/2018 17:24

Gel bras.. thank you! Is there anything I can do to encourage them to grow a bit more? Or will I be stuck like this now? It isn't just that they are small, they are "empty", like the fullness has completely gone.

And uneven, which I know is normal, and mine always were uneven. But now having one breast fit in an A cup and the other two small, that is very uneven!

My breasts are the same ! I hate them so much

I hate seeing them

dementedpixie · 24/03/2018 18:32

what back size is the A cup bra? You may need a smaller back size and bigger cup to make them look fuller

dementedpixie · 24/03/2018 18:33

If you have any fullness at all then you are not an A cup as that means only 1 inch difference between the under bust and over bust measurements

897654321abcvrufhfgg · 24/03/2018 18:38

I used to think I was an 36 A cup. I got measured properly and am actually a 32D! Makes my boobs look sooooooo much better wearing g a proper fitting bra

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/03/2018 18:57

Are you young OP ?
If you put on some weight, there is a chance of them changing.

misscockerspaniel · 24/03/2018 19:11

Sorry to hear that you haven't been well. From my experience, I think there is a good chance that you will see an improvement as you put weight back on.

LittlemsNoBoobs · 24/03/2018 19:44

I'm 30 years old and have one child now aged 3. I think pregnancy may have changed them, but I breastfed for 2 years and then got ill and was preoccupied with that and didn't really notice them but the weight loss has mostly affected my upper body - I have very visible ribs and spine etc. My face is gaunt, and the no boobs. I have lost weight on my lower half too, I'm naturally quite hippy, but I tried on a pair of stockings recently (size small) and the top bits were far too big for my thighs. Sorry that's all irrelevant. I just feel so unhappy with myself right now.

I'm not sure of the back size, I do need a proper fitting but I'm embarrassed at the state of my boobs it's putting me off going! I used to wear a 30DD. I have a little fullness on one side but pretty much nothing on the other, it's like a man. In fact my dp has bigger breasts than I do right now.

I'm trying really hard to gain weight but my appetite is so poor now. I've started seeing a counsellor because the long-term illness has made me quite depressed. I'm hoping she will help and that in turn will help my appetite. I'm just dreading summer and not being able to hide under thick jumpers.

LittlemsNoBoobs · 24/03/2018 19:46

Oh and I think it was a 32A that I tried on. I couldn't find a smaller back size in the shop. I only tried on bras in one shop, felt sad and then went home. Where would be a good place to go for a proper fitting?

OP start with booborbust.com - it's an online measuring system and will let you what size you should start trying. If Bravissimo do your size they are great for buying multiple sizes online and you can return the wrong sizes.

dementedpixie · 24/03/2018 20:17

http://thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk/p/fitting-advice.html another link explaining how to measure yourself

dementedpixie · 24/03/2018 20:18

32 probably too big for you given your weight loss. What dress size do you think you are?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/03/2018 21:22

So time is on your side, you will regain an amount of fullness. I speak from experience. It sounds like you've had a bit of a battle on your hands, I hope you continue to make progress.🌸

scattyhattie · 25/03/2018 03:00

You can get bra inserts aka chicken fillets and use to fill out just one cup to make more even.
Its worth trying on different styles of bra to see what fits best, moulded cups don't suit /support mine as well as unpadded which is a shame.

LittlemsNoBoobs · 25/03/2018 15:02

Thank you everyone for the advice and kind words. I know it's shallow but my looks and confidence have taken a bit of a battering this last year. I will look at those bra measuring links, thank you for sharing them.

My clothes size now is 4, sometimes larger on bottoms if they have to go over my hips, but always 4 on the top half. I'm not sure what that would translate to in bra size but I'll look at those links. Thank you Flowers

And very good idea about the chicken fillets to pad one side scatty. I never thought of anything like that.

dementedpixie · 25/03/2018 15:08

If you are a size 4 then no way will you measure 32 under bust (I wear a 36 under bust and am size 20/22). Unfortunately high street stores don't tend to sell very small back sizes so may have to order online

M0RVEN · 25/03/2018 15:19

And you are NOT being shallow , it’s just fine to care about your body and how it looks. This is Style and Beauty FFS, people stress about the colour of tights hereHmm

Can I ask how tall are you OP? Because size 4 is quite slim unless you are very short . Do you think you might need some medical advice about your weight loss ?

LittlemsNoBoobs · 25/03/2018 15:29

I'm 5'4. I lost the weight because I was long-term sick and am really struggling to put it back on. I've started seeing a counsellor because I have been depressed and finding it hard to leave the house. (I think being stuck indoors for so long while I was ill has affected me quite badly). I think my low mood is contributing to my poor appetite so I am hoping that the counsellor will help with this.

Grin thank you!

I am not a stylish person or a beauty but I do enjoy reading this board. I find it is a really supportive part of the site!

32A is equivalent of 30B and 28C.

Given you were a 30 band before you lost weight, it's likely that a 30 band would be too big, so a 32 would definitely be too big.

The right size bra will make them look much better. If you find a bra with the correct cup for the larger breast you can always get one of those chicken fillet things for in the smaller breasts cup. Also for band size try a bra on backwards first.

Do the boob or bust calculator but bare in mind that as you have no natural padding around your ribs now, you may need to go up a band size and down a cup from your measurements

SwimmingInTheBlueLagoon · 25/03/2018 17:25

I wrote that this morning but got distracted and hadn't actually pressed post. Now I know you are a size 4 I can say there is no way on this earth your ribs could be remotely near a 32 band!

The right size band will definitely help your breasts to look fuller and larger.

Also Flowers. Sorry to hear you've been unwell and lost so much weight that you've gone too thin. Also that you are depressed and have lost your appetite. Hope you start feeling better soon and good luck putting the weight back on.

CountFosco · 25/03/2018 18:10

Your appetite will have shrunk when you are ill, you really should be referred to a dietician as well as a councillor to help you put on weight. But quickly, what my Dad was told was eat little and often (lots of mini meals, he also would leave about an hour between eating his main and pudding which helped) and add fat (butter, cream, greek yoghurt, cheese etc) to all meals so if having soup stir in a spoonful or two of cream. Full fat milk in your tea etc. They also recommended those slimming meal replacement drinks to be taken as a snack. Basically all the things you are normally told not to do. Hope you get on the road to recovery soon xxx

As far as your boobs go I'm sure there are threads on here about bras for narrow backs, a pretty new bra will help make all the difference. Do you live near an independent bra shop, they might have some for teenagers that would suit.

KirstenRaymonde · 25/03/2018 18:13

Absolutely measure yourself using the boob or bust calculator posted above. If you’re a size 4 you’re probably a very small back size, getting the right fitting bra will make a world of difference. Best to look online for small back sizes, order lots to try on. The high street is always just 32-44, gives people such a warped idea of what a small band size is. I’m a 32E and I’m a size 12, you’re definitely not a 32.
