After weight loss...

Over the last 3 years I've lost 5 stone and now at my ideal weight. It's been a long process and I still wear what I used to, even though it now hangs off of me.
What did you buy after losing weight? I really want to reward myself but am finding it hard to find anything.
I am still very self conscious.
I am 5ft 1 and 9 stone if that helps, with still enormous boobs Hmm

Great jeans or trousers is the most important thing. I'm about your height and weight and I only lost 1.5st and needed to size down jeans and trousers a lot. What about a nicely fitting dress to show off your new shape. Oh, and loads of websites now have a 'what's my size' option. Ignore the bit about what size you are in other brands but if you put your height, weight and bra size (assuming you've been properly fitted for bras since you lost weight? If not that should be first) the software will tell you what size will fit best. Good for helping you realise you are actually a size 10.

I find that when I lose weight what was formerly a flattering style now looks bloody awful as my shape has changed, so it requires a complete re-think. Would it be worth booking a session with a personal shopper?

Well done losing so much, I'm sure you feel great. I lost 2 and a half stone and am currently replacing clothes. Like you my boobs haven't really lost much, just my back iykwim. But that has enabled me to go down from a 16/18 to a 12. I recently bought a M and S minimiser (in an E cup) and that's helped too.
I've been a steady weight since October, for winter I bought a decent coat which made me feel smart. I also bought a pair of good jeans and a few tops , I must have worn my jumpers too tight 🙁 Because some of them are still wearable (not good as in price , not expensive, but a great fit) I am now buying summer things as I've a holiday coming up and I'm buying more fitted dresses than I would have worn and some in a slightly different style, I love shift dresses as they always skimmed things but now I've bought some with waists and bought a couple of belts (haven't had a belt in years) I've rebought trousers I love in a 3 sizes smaller in a heavy cotton mix from Next which are a great fit on me. Overall though I'm probably buying dearer stuff as it fits well. Online shopping with free returns is your friend as I found it hard to judge what size I was . I find actual shopping takes too long, and I like plenty of time to think about a purchase, try it with other things etc. Online you can look at lots of things and try to narrow down what you like. Once you find what size you are in a brand you could buy things from eBay as it's hard replacing a wardrobe in financial terms, I've a thing for a certain style of Boden cotton dress and here eBay has been my friend. For swimsuits I've used Next clearance on their website where you can pick one up for half price.
My one treat to myself was a leather biker jacket, I'd always wanted one but tended to look too butch and square in it at my heaviest.
I don't think I personally could use a personal shopper, I'd feel under pressure and I like to experiment with outfitsin the privacy of my own home. That's just me.

Me too, I now have a selection of belts in different colours.

Thanks for the advice. Might treat myself to a personal shopper Smile

Well done. I’m 5ft and 5 years ago I went from a size 12 to a size 6/8, losing around 2 stone. So I had to replace lot so of things.
Maybe start with a few items you can do a lot with. For spring, a pair of blue jeans and a black pair, a shirt or blouse, a couple of T-shirts, a Cardigan and a trench would give you a small wardrobe of basics. Then add 1-2 items each month.
When I lost weight, my body shape changed as well so I had to think about wearing different cuts and styles of clothes. Make sure you dress for the body you have now and not the one you used to have!

I took a slim (very honest) friend shopping with me and she took me to her usual shops, I had to go back in and out of the fitting room for smaller sizes a few times. She also 'made' me try on things that I just wouldn't have picked up as I was still seeing a larger size when I looked in the mirror, she was able to see my actual size.

It took about a year to adjust and stop dressing for a bigger shape.

Have you had your bra fitted properly? that was also a bit of a revelation!
