Rosacea spotty nose

Has anyone successfully treated facial rosacea especially the red, sporty nose syndrome? I have never successfully treated it. I saw a dermatologist once who put me in a three month course of antibiotics which did nothing. Then recently I saw someone who recommended light treatment which I can't afford yet. Does it work permanently? . I wondered which are the best creams you use for it too? Thank you

The spots on the nose are the worst - I spent most of December looking like Rudolph with one right on the actual end of my nose.

I'm a bit Hmm at GPs not wanting to prescribe Soolantra, if the alternative is long term antibiotics. My GP hadn't heard of it, but he looked it up and was happy to give it a try. Now I think the surgery offers it as an option before ABs.

Hmm at the GPs, not at the posters saying their GPs won't prescribe, obviously!

Hi I'm back! My GP prescribed some other cream called Acea and when it didn't work after few weeks I went back and asked for Soolantra. I have been taking it for nearly a month and I have no change at all. Just nothing. Should it have worked by now? I put it all over my face even though my rosacea is just on my nose and cheeks.

i found soolantra good for spots but not redness, still plan to have the laser treatment for that in winter.

I had no luck with my rosacea using soolantra either. I ordered it from chemist direct, paying a hefty price.
The disappointment was heartbreaking.
I had pustules, massive whiteheads, redness, rough textured and sore skin.
I absolutely hated leaving the house, and was utterly self conscious. Sad

I tried everything, and have now worked out what suits me. My skin is soft, smooth and (mostly) spot free.

I swear by oil cleansing (I double cleanse), I then use bar soap, and I really don't feel clean without it.
I adore nip and fab pads (whatever is on offer), the Ordinary's niacinamide, and 2% retinoid.
Alongside with Hada labo premium hyaluronic serum, these are my ultimate staples.
I also use an essence to give extra hydration, usually the Ordinary's marine HA, or Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner.

I also love natural oils as a last step, usually grapeseed or jojoba oil.
I always have these items at home, I'm scared to let them run out!

An added bonus is that I have very few fine lines and wrinkles. Grin

Forgot to say, my redness has virtually disappeared too.
I am shocked when I look in the mirror at times!

I wear foundation and powder daily, not too much, and take time to blend it into my skin.
It really does look the best it has done for years.

Antibiotics normally clear it for me. Also sulphur soap and the cream are good. V cheap from Amazon. Everyone is different it's just a case of trying stuff.
