do they all turn orange & shiny over the day?
I'm trying a few (body shop atm)
I like it when it first goes on, but after a few hours I look like a polished brass door knob.

is it me? or have I just not yet found the right one.
so far tried: boots no 7, nivea, body shop

CC stands for colour corrector. In short, they’re a tinted moisturiser type product that is formulated to even out your skin tone so will hide redness/brown spots/hyper pigmentation. The coverage can vary widely between brands though. It’s a total mine field!

Thanks again Troubled.

Minefield indeed! How on earth do ppl decide? I have neither the funds nor inclination to buy/test loads of them Sad

I find this with bb cream too. I've started using max factor.skin luminizer foundation instead.

Go to a big Boots and play with the testers! Try on the inside of your wrist to get the best idea of how it will sit on your face. But mostly it’s just trial and error until you find what works for you!

You honestly don't need to spend a lot of money and playing with testers in the middle of a shop is so hard! Superdrug had, until recently, the Garnier BB cream for third off, so £6 something (Boots had it half price, but that's finished now). I'm pale, so don't go for anything other than the light one ('orginal' is best too, as they keep trying to chuck extra stuff into the others). It really makes a difference but is not heavy, doesn't seep into any (ahem) lines. I love it...as you can tell.

The glow drops I saw recently on This Morning and when I looked in the shops, they're everywhere. Just an highlighting/illuminating fluid with a pipette. I bought the Barry M one in Beam me up, sticking to golder tones rather than silver. Again they were about £6/£7 I think. I just put 1 or 2 drops in my palm, add the BB cream, mix in my palms then go for it! Other people have noticed my skin too, so at least it's not my imagination!

I use Kiko: factor 30, great coverage and cheap.

GeekyWombat · 24/03/2018 09:10

Apologies for the daft question, but how do you apply the B.B. cream? I’m about to go hunt down some Garnier, do you just use your fingers the way you would moisturiser? Or should it go on a sponge?

doodlyfiddly · 24/03/2018 13:52

Geeky, I put a pea-sized amount in the middle of my palm, rub my palms together then put it all over, except under eyes/eyelids, like I do with my moisturiser first (having let it sink in for a couple of mins). I hope it does for you what it does for me!
