Best scaffolding for a Csection overhang?

Basseting · 20/03/2018 19:41

What is best to hold in a nasty Csection overhang pls?
2 x sections and size 18 I could do with surgery but not an option atm.

Any advice most welcome (ps basic Sloggis dont cut it...)

Have you tried the Spanx styley pants ?

For special outfits I quite like basques (Bravissimo ones are good) but a bit of a faff for every day

I don't know if they are scaffolding, but Next lift, slim and shape jeans keep my droopy post-section belly trussed up nicely. They are also really confy, as I can't beat a muffin top.

BoogleMcGroogle · 20/03/2018 20:01

can't bear obvs

Not outfit but swimming had an amazing effect on mine, must have just used the right muscles! I'm a size 14 and very short so not a gym bunny

Tartanwallpaper · 20/03/2018 20:09

I had overhang and middle stomach hang too because the middle of my stomach decided to pack in during pregnancy and kind of pop out in a line down to my belly button and even with physio I'm lumpy.... swimming was better than physio

Anything with a high flat waistband. Next do some high waist leggings with a wide flat waist and worked wonders!
Also thick tights under skirts - same effect.
Underwear wise either v flimsy pants that don't give a shelf or sucky in pants. Mine are m and s and even primark. They don't need to be suffocating just high waisted. Does the job.
Agree next slim and shape jeans are ace and also dp jeggings - actually any jeggings treggings are much the same.

Have you tried the sloggi control ones? I think they're good

Basseting · 20/03/2018 21:13

you are all lovely, thanks!

I'd better get swimming (tho lower back issues means I do backstroke so dont suppose that would do much for my stomach?)

Mine is: a. muscles still separated from pg (when I sit up in bath i look 9m pg) b. big apron from csec (bit more than overhang, I guess) and c I am also overweight which I need to address.

I am just so depressed about the apron it is hard to see the point of losing weight as I think it will just look worse?

I have the leftovers of a twin tum and it’s so badly marked and scarred (horrific stretch marks) that I can never stand the thought of anyone seeing it. I always wear a maidenform vest under tshirts (even in the summer) and it sucks my squidge in and also avoids my tummy being on show if my top rides up. I can highly recommend. You can get them on amazon and the tummy control is fab.

zippyswife · 20/03/2018 21:25

OP- I don’t want to put you off losing weight. I lost 6 stone after dc3 and while it’s nice being slim my overhang is horrendous! Not sure if it’s bevause I lost the weight very quickly- I’m not sure the way to avoid that- maybe a slower approach and hopefully you’ll be more fortunate than me.

paceyswife · 20/03/2018 21:30

chimper can you link to the vest - sounds like it could be what I'm after

Lucked · 20/03/2018 21:33

Basseting how often do you swim? I have been considering it but it has been ages since I did it for exercise.

Nelly1727 · 20/03/2018 21:35

Sorry to jump on the thread but Can I just ask about the swimming. What stroke were you swimming that made a difference? Was it breaststroke?
No c section, but yuck overhang belly since kids.
Spanx have always worked for me.

Basseting · 20/03/2018 21:46

zippyswife I recently watched LIsa Riley's 'Baggy Bodies' prog but lost the 2nd half where I wanted to see what undies she used for a wobbly tum pre surgery as she lost lots of weight too.

The Maidenform vest sounds good!

Sorry I took two days to reply I've been at work - I went once a week and did lengths and it helped massively. I found walking really helpful too, especially for "knitting" my muscles back together. Nothing extreme , just an hour's brisk walk a day pushing my pram. If I lean up from a laid down position now my stomach still "cones" up down the middle for want of a better word, but it is so much better. 4 years on and my scar is invisible, I have a small "apron" and I have a slightly misaligned stomach, but none of it is too much to worry about. Underwear wise I wear peacocks control pants in a size bigger than usual which are about £3 and flatten it all down without squishing it elsewhere

Tartanwallpaper · 22/03/2018 12:35

Also have you ever tried wearing a slip OP? They don't squash you in but make a smoother surface for your clothes to cling atGrin
