Silly question - how do I keep my hair out of my eyes?

I’ve had a fringe for all of my fairly long life but thanks to the magic of thyroid treatment I now find myself growing my hair including growing the fringe out. I can keep it more or less swept back with the aid of mousse, hairspray and Big Hair but if I don’t do that (or if it’s a bit windy), in the words of my Darling Husband “you look like Cousin It”

What can I do in the intermediate period to stop me bumping into things? It appears that Alice bands are only acceptable if you are a male Premiership footballer nowadays. Clips? Slides? Where do you put them?

As previously mentioned I am a person of mature years and anxious not to look like an eight year old.

Plain coloured Kirby grips?

How about braiding it? Like this .....

Just shave your head, you will have no problems then with your fringe.

Or twist it a bit like this .....

Thanks, I’d never have thought of the twist.
Half a century of lack of practice means that I have no confidence in my ability to use Kirby grips appropriately Sad

I twist mine, lift a flap of hair and pin it underneath so you can't see the pins. It's also a really nice way to do a kind of false fringe if you don't want to cut one.

Congrats on your treatment and the effect it's having on your hair! This happened to me too (thinning hair before treatment, then mad hair growth), and I grew mine out to mid-back, which I hadn't had since I was a teen. I turned 50 and decided I might be a bit old for it, but it was fun to play with for a year or so.

Thanks all - that gives me a place to start.
I was hoping the treatment would give me eyebrows as well, but it seems that I still need to paint them on - at least that’s easily done.

I found RapidLash and Latisse very effective on my eyebrows. They're not the massive caterpillar brows I had as a youngster (thank god) but they're fully there, even the outside edges.
