Dry skin help!

I'm pregnant and my skin has become really dry with fine lines and extra freckles (which I don't really mind!)

I was originally trying to find a way to lessen my reliance on the neals yard vitamin e night cream (cost wise) which I use day and night but it's the only think that my skin is happy in! I also use a little 8 hour cream on my lips and around my eyes which usually works.

I'm looking for anything that helps really and maybe something to add to the day too.

I tried the ordinary hydraulic (?) acid and like it and returned to some rosehip oil but I'm looking at vitamin c serums.

I almost bought the ordinary vitamin c one (grainy) to try it after trinny recommended it. I've seen different reviews on it though but the price is attractive. I also saw if you add a couple of drops of the h acid it helps it go on.

However I picked up that ideally vitamin e and the frenulic acid helps vit c, and found the timeless one. Which sounds great but expensive!

I've seen the body shop one mentioned too.

Trinny recommended the Hero brand which is v cheap.

Any experience or thoughts?

I'm trying basic Nivea blue pot for cheapness and based on reviews but I'm not sure it's as good as the 8 hour cream.

Sorry, I'm 41, usually combination/ dry. Quite rosy cheeks.

Skin reacts to being dry and in dry environments like this time of year.

Are you drinking enough and is your bedroom heated at night? I find a cooler room and drinking a mug of herbal tea before sleep helps to keep my skin hydrated.
The changes in pregnancy are from the inside so you might need to think about what your body needs to keep up?

Yes I drink lots but the water in the room is an idea. Though I always have a cup of redbush tea beside my bed.

I do think I'm starting to see fine lines etc and the vitamin c thing has come to my attention.

Or just carry on with the rose hip?!

Maybe I'll just try some evening primrose capsules.

I found a hydrating toner really helps plump the skin and makes it feels so much better - more than Hyaluronic Acid - which I also tried from the Ordinary. I use Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner but there are plenty around. Secret Key aloe toner is another favourite and that's about £8 from eBay (Korean seller).

The Rosehip will help and a really gentle cleanser like La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser or Avène Extremely Gentle Cleanser, so you're not stripping any oils from your skin.
