Moisturising primer? Advice please.

I'm after recommendations for a moisturising primer to go on under my foundation - Nars natural radiant long-wear.

My skin has always been quite dry on my face, but since switching to this foundation from Nars luminous weightless, I am getting awful flaky bits on my forehead and nose.

I got the NYX moisturising primer which definitely makes it look a little better but it's still there.

My daytime skincare routine is -
Garner miscellar water with oil and then Liz Earle super defence moisturiser. I alternate primers between Revlon photo ready, Smashbox and NYX moisturising.

My evening skincare routine is -
Miscellar water, Liz Earle hot cloth, every third day I use liquid gold, otherwise it's Elizabeth Arden facial oil and Number 7 protect & perfect night.

I think this routine is working well for me, my skin certainly feels plump and moisturised without make up. I also use Clinique even better glow and this doesn't happen.

It's just when the Nars foundation goes on it seems to suck the moisture from my skin.

A lot of the makeup videos on IG I see them using a primer from a dropper type bottle, looks like an oil? What is this? Would this help?

I don't have a budget in mind, as long as the product works.

All suggestions gratefully received.

Love this one, great light weight moisturising primer. You can also mix some bronzer with it and make a tinted moisturiser 🙂

Oh sorry also make sure you're drinking enough water usually start getting flaking skin on nose/forehead if you're dehydrated. And exfoliate gently at least once a week

The Estée Lauder smoothing primer is brilliant, really makes your skin soft and moisturisered.

This Works Camera Close Up is a mask, moisturiser and primer and you only need a small amount.

Def get a sample of Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face base to try, it’s absolutely fabulous 😀

Thank you all for the suggestions, any tips on how to get samples? Do they usually carry all these in sample size or decant.

I'm very much a "that sounds good, I'll buy it" hand over an outrageous sum and get home and hate it. Estée Lauder foundation fail

Majority of counters will be happy to give you a sample first to try. Bobbi Brown certainly will & not just a small sachet that will only last for 1-2 uses. I switched to BB in November & wish I’d discovered them years ago (I’m 46). Happy shopping 😀
