eBay?

I’ve had a wardrobe clear out and have listed a few bits on eBay. It’s all good quality, immaculate and branded stuff - All Saints etc.

Noticed that interest is low though - and looking back at sold items - people aren’t paying much for things.

Is there a better place to sell or is that just the way of eBay now?

Also, if anyone buys the likes of Ted Baker, Other Stories, Reiss etc on eBay and has any repeatable sellers - please share them!

My daughters Ralph Lauren boots which were in really really good condition just sold for £2.70.

I find I do better with a buy it now price nowadays.

I did try with a BIN a while ago, but it was t a huge success.

£2.50 is nothing, hardly makes it worth the effort.

I guess it depends on your expectations as much as anything. With the constant sales nowadays, it's very easy to pick something up with a 30-50% discount direct from the retailer, and you get a guaranteed returns policy (yes eBay forces a refund but still...) I do think eBay has suffered as a result.

I'd expect to sell All Saints or similar, new with tags, current or very recent past season for about 50-60% of original full price. Anything older than a couple of years loses it's value very quickly, to around 50% or less. The only exceptions to the rule would be those "must have" items, like an All Saints or Whistles leather biker jacket (even then only certain styles), or one of their staple knitwear they repeat every year. Certain designer sweatshirts, designer collaboration items, that kind of thing...

Definitely don't bother with auction though, list as But It Now, or maybe take offers. Also they are doing a lot of £1 selling fees promos at the moment which makes bigger ticket sales much more profitable than parting with 10% of the sale...

That’s really helpful, thanks!!

So say you bought something for £35, how much should you sell it for on eBay?
