Another cashmere question!

Recently there was a useful thread about cashmere from different shops. I think the general consensus was that some cheaper cashmere is good value for money but in general you get what you pay for.

However, i have a couole of jumpers from Brora and they do pill. One in particular has a more modern shape and looser knit and it pills really badly. On the other hand inalso have a very old cashmere jumper from Benetton (I think from the days when Benetton was still good quality) and it doesn't pill at all. Is it to do with how it's knitted?

Pure cashmere always pils. It isn’t a sign of poor quality. You need a cashmere comb (Amazon) to remove the bobbles.

Over time your sweaters will become finer but there really is no other way.

Is your Benetton sweater cashmere mixed with cotton or other wool?

Thanks - yes, i do have one of those combs - they really are good, aren't they...
the benetton jumper is pure cashmere actually...

I have had a finer cashmere jumper from brora which did pill a lot. I spoke to them and they sent it back to the factory in Scotland to be reconditioned- which they didn't charge me for.

I find that with cheaper cashmere when you go over it with the comb it se ma to get thinner. With Brora the bobbles just go. Apparently it is the length of the threads
