Can you find me anything similar as I can't afford it. But I love it so.

I'd be willing to spend up to £400ish but under is much preferable.

I am a petite size 8, small boobs and waist, can sometimes fit 6.

Thanks for playing

Here’s a clicky link

I googled because the description in the link sounded hideous but actually it does look pretty nice. Not a scooby where you could get a dupe though.

It's not alike at all but the best I could do!

It's a fairly simple shape. I would find a decent dressmaker and get them to make it for you. There are scores of sewing patterns that would make that dress very easily, it really is not complicated. It's a 60's inspired high neck shift dress with 3/4 sleeves and a ruffle added to hem and cuffs.

Do you live near a big city? Most have good fabric shops.

OutsideContextProblem · 12/03/2018 17:50

That’s a good point. With a budget of 400 quid (or less depending on fabric and how expensive your area is) you could get something very similar tailored to fit you perfectly. My local sewing shop specialises in courses teaching you to make your own sixties-flavoured tailored shift dresses - you could even make one yourself (in cheap cotton for the first couple of goes).

Thanks everyone. I had already seen the asos ones but I have short arms so I would have to get them tailored anyway. Good idea about getting one made for me. I have never done this but you are right, I know where to buy fabric and it would probably cost less to get someone to make one for me similar to the picture. Good idea.

You're welcome Smile

People alway say "oh you could get that made" when it's a highly complicated, fiddly dress with a lot of detail or a very specific fabric/pattern that clearly makes the dress beautiful - i.e., you couldn't really replicate it.

But that dress has one of the most basic pattern shapes known to dressmakers Smile and the fabric is beautiful but not such an unusual one that you couldn't find something extremely similar which would give the same look.

You really could have that made by a decent dressmaker and it would definitely come in under your budget (well, depending on your fabric choice of course) as the basic pattern shape is so widely available for the domestic market. It really is one that could be made.
