How do you combat frizz?

I have what should be curly hair, but it is so frizzy it just looks dreadful! I have tried so many mousses, serums, creams, and nothing I've ever tried has seemed to make any improvement. I tried the curly girl method but just found my hair still went greasy after one day and I can't go out with greasy hair! If you have managable curly/frizzy hair, what works for you? Smile

Brazilian/ keratin blow dry?

Falconhoof1 · 12/03/2018 15:44

I straighten it (not straight straight but with a curl) at the weekend and it lasts all week. I couldn't ever do it before I used an In-styler but I find it quite easy now using this. Changed my life!

I've tried ALL the products but always come back to John Frieda's range. I have noticed that hair is mysteriously well behaved on holiday. Particularly in Crete where the water is so hard that you can practically see the limescale forming in the kettle. Unfortunately I live in the land of soft water Sad. For misty days only answer is hats!

Don't brush it ever ever ever

I wear a hairband. It doesnt stop it kind of disguises it.

Try the Curly Girl method . Loads of info online. Definitely works.

A couple of drops of Argan oil rubbed on palms and smoothed through damp hair might help.

@Aridane

I have one of these booked this week, they really do take away the frizz. Well worth it.

Another vote for the C.G method. Best thing I ever did!

Elphabaisnotwicked · 12/03/2018 21:33

Thank you for all your suggestions, I tried the CG method before, but couldn't get past the greasy stage, which put me off a bit... have tried argan oil and the John Frieda frizz ease range, neither with much success Sad maybe time to try all the products all over again and give the curly girl method another go, and hope my hair doesn't go too greasy again!

I find mine is either frizzy without products or greasy if I use serum, John Freida etc. There’s not much in between. I just straighten it to within an inch of its life.

Elphabaisnotwicked · 12/03/2018 21:39

I find when I straighten my own hair it's straight but still has a kind of frizz to it iyswim? Any idea whether it's just my poor technique or whether I should invest in a pair of GHDs?

I have very curly hair & can straighten with GHDs, if you still have frizz after straightening I think you need better straighteners.
To wear it curly I shampoo & condition, once I have rinsed conditioner out I use a leave in condtitioner but just a tiny bit& that keeps the frizz under control

TheJoyOfSox · 12/03/2018 21:42

Can I recommend Natural World confitione. Not only is it bloody amazing at smoothing frizzy hair, is also smells lush and is fabulous value at around £6.00 for a full 1 lt pump bottle.

I used to use serum, argan oil, heat defence spray etc. Not any more, this (photo attached) is wonderful.
