What the Geoff can I use on this hair to tame the wild greys? (pics included)

My hair was a very dark brown but has been going increasingly more grey over the years. I stopped dying it a couple of years ago as even the temporary dyes were building up, giving a nasty Lego hair look but not covering the greys for long. I really don't want to go down the route of dying it again as I don't mind the colour, it's the texture that's driving me mad.

With a lot of effort it can go smooth(ish) as seen on one of the pics but this lasts approx 10 mins as any damp in the air, movement by me etc makes those wiry greys stick out. Hairdresser also said I have a lot of new hair coming through so these shorter ones don't help.
Currently I'm using a coconut serum after drying and straightening it but that has no effect the second I step outside on a wet day like today.
What can I use to make it sleek and lovely? Is there something designed for wild untamed grey hairs?

I'm posting to get answers but I can't help sorry.

Mine is similar to yours. They tend to stick out more especially when they are short, I don't mind that they are grey but it's annoying that they stick up like radars.

Do you ever use straighteners?

HeyMacWey · 12/03/2018 15:29

Whoops - just reread your op Blush

Have you tried John Freida serum? Possibly that combined with the deep treatment stuff might help.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 12/03/2018 16:41

Thank you

I've just had a look on Superdrug and they have an offer on John Frieda products - so many Frizz Ease ones though!

6 serums to choose from- shall I just go for the most super, ultra, maximum, high strength one on there?

I saw an improvement after a Brazillian blow dry (keratin), but it's ££ and lasts around 4 months.

I think L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil is amazing for sleek shiny hair. Just smooth a couple of drops on damp hair before drying and straightening.
Apologies if you've bought the Frizz ease!

My hair tends to go a bit frizzy on rainy days. My solution is a coat with a big hood. Nothing else will stop it going haywire in the rain.

I use the original MoroccanOil oil thing. It is expensive but you don't have to use much at all, even on long hair, and stopped all my problems with humidity and frizz.

It also left my quite frazzled hair feeling smooth and conditioned. I bought a big bottle at the end of last summer and its only half empty. It also smells divine Smile

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 12/03/2018 16:50

No, I've not bought it yet - my mind is still boggling at the options Smile
I'll look at the oil too

Unfortunately a hood doesn't solve the problem. It's as if my hair only has to know that it's raining or humid for it to develop a mind of it's own

Oh, that reminds me Molly I still have some Moroccan oil somewhere. It was great when the greys were occasional but it didn't seem to cope as the quantity grew.

joshwoodcolour.com/pages/consultation

Do this!

It comes up with a “prescription” and there is a new product designed for individual springy greys.
