I have 33 minutes to sort this out.
Hair: shoulder length, naturally curly, usually blow-dried straight or at least smooth.
Thought it might be interesting to have a proper hairdresser style it with natural curl. First time for years I sat there wanting to cry. Cross between 80s soap star and Kevin Keegan. Frizzball doesnt begin to describe it.
Cannot leave the house but have to in (now) 31 minutes.
HELP.

I don’t understand.

Straighten it with straighteners?
Wash or wet it quickly and dry it again now?

Katescurios · 07/03/2018 19:02

Just wash it and blow dry as normal. 30 mins is plenty of time.

Unemfuckingployable · 07/03/2018 19:08

30mins definitely not long enough - it’s very thick. It has so much product in that going over it with straighteners would be challenging. I think I will wet it and comb it out maybe?

Wash & let it dry on its own, hairdressers can’t style curly hair
Or look at Pinterest for curly hair up

Thanks Nancy. I think you’re right.
I’ve wet it, combed it and twisted it up. There’s so much product in it that I think if I give it a blast with the dryer it will come down into soft waves.
Lesson learned.

You sure it's just that you aren't used to having it curly? If you've got time post a pic.

Damp it down and weigh down with some conditioner & gel.

And as if by magic, an ad for ghd has appeared at the bottom of my screen!

Just pin it up for now and look regal ;)

Unemfuckingployable · 07/03/2018 19:23

I do let it dry curly when I don’t have time to blow dry, and hate it - too many different textures and the individual curls are very thin sections, if that makes sense, so it all just looks a mess. I thought a ‘proper’ hairdresser would be able to rock with the natural curl. But no.

I tried pinning it, Lobster, and my husband said I looked like a Victorian governess and worse than the frizzball.
Not his finest hour.

My hair is very curly & dries ok when I do it, as soon as the hairdresser dries it I look like sideshow bob

LanguidLobster · 07/03/2018 19:38

The cheek of him!! Send him over to me, I'll make him dye his hair neon orange and riverdance on the spot as punishment.

Ok if you want it down just try to do a quick straightening. I'm sure it's fine and you're fretting about nothing.
