Bra Intervention - does this sound right?

For an age and a half I've been wearing a 36DD. I was pretty confident that was the right size. No riding up. No 4 boob profile etc. But I've lost weight and definitely boob mass. So I need a new bra.

My measurements are
30 under tight
31 under snug
37 round standing
40 round dangling (not pretty!!)

This works out at a 30G or 30GG depending on which site calc I use! Shock

Then a quick online shop makes me think that 30 band size are a little few and far between. Does that mean a 32FF would work?

(Not sure I can get my head around the large cup size yet)

TIA

Yep, that sounds a good starting point. However, your 36DD bras have the same volume as a 30FF so you may find that a 30G/GG is just a bit too big. However, the bra will be narrower so the change in shape alone may make a difference. If you've lost upper fullness you may want to try balcony/half cup shapes too. I'd start at 30GG and work back.

Remember to try the bra on backwards first to check the band is correct before trying the cups. Oh yes, and scoop! (If you scoop whilst wearing your current bra, do you get any quad boob?)

Ace. Thank you!

Scoop? Do you lean lean forward and tip boobs into cup? I don't think I get 4 boobs whatever I do these days.....

Are bra sizes universal? Ie I don't want to buy from M&S but it's the only shop I have available if I go in and try on a heap then head to my usual online shop?

Different manufacturers vary just like they do with other clothes. So you may need a slightly different size elsewhere. However it could be good for finding out what style of cup suits you best (for example I only suit a moulded full cup, in any other style my boobs look wide horizontally but narrow vertically and overall pointy).

I travelled all the way to bravissimo (1.5hrs each way) just to get the perfect bra - and it was definitely worth it. I don't even notice I'm wearing it never mind that it's underwired - it just so comfortable. The bras I bought were quite pricey though - £41 per bra (but Googleing it, I don't think it's possible to get my particular bra cheaper anywhere else).

@SorrelForbes I've needed to have a remeasure. I ordered a 30 band sports bra and it was clear that want right. So
31 under tight (30 way too tight)
32 under snug
37 round standing
40 round dangling

I tried on a 32f and needed a 32FF (boob spillage) which they didn't have. Nosed around several shops and it seems that 32 bands are hard to come by. The same for F and above.

So I tried 34DD and to my eyes that fitted. Does that stack up and sound ok?

I really wouldn't got up to a 34. You won't get the support you need from the band. 32FF is a fairly easy size to find if you go to Bravissimo, John Lewis etc. I'd still try a 30G if I was you. A 30F would be too tight as the cups wouldn't be big enough and would steal room from the band making it feel too tight.

M&S often miss out double sizes (e.g. FF) so their G is really a FF (if that makes sense?).
