Help - Sebhorrheic keratosis on face - want to get it removed

I have the above on my face in about 5 different places. I did't know what it was called until I went to the GP, worried about skin cancer. Apparently it's harmless but the patches are slowly growing and I don't want them to get any bigger. They are brown and slightly crusty and getting quite unsightly. She said a few years ago I could have had them removed on the NHS but this is no longer an option.

I am willing to pay to get it done but have never been to any sort of "face" clinic...several I've seen online seem to be run by doctors which should be reassuring, but this is my face, and I don't want it messed up. I have asked a few friends but no one else has had this issue. I am on Surrey/Hampshire border and willing to travel to the right place. Anyone else had this done, do you regret it or are you pleased? And any recommendations would be very gratefully received.

TIA

Before you have them removed (can be expensive, especially if anywhere near your eye, and if they do a shave biopsy it will leave a small scar: I know this because I have tonnes), you might try a new removal tip that I discovered recently!

I read that Diclofenac can reduce growth so started applying a small amount of Voltaren gel every night. After two weeks one large one came off while I was washing my face with a washcloth. It did bleed quite a lot which was a bit scary but had now healed over and although not completely invisible it is 90% gone (now a small colourless bump instead of a large crusty brown thing). No scar. Given that the alternative was a biopsy given the location, and that would have cost £700, I am quite pleased.

I have had many burned off with nitrogen on my body but to be honest they have usually grown back. Two pregnancies have been especially bad for me, so I reckon it would also be worth delaying if you are planning a pregnancy any time soon (I think the higher estrogen makes them grow like mad).

PS didn’t answer your actual question! I have seen two dermatologists at this clinic and both were very good. Rachel Healy was recommended to me by a medic friend as ‘someone I would want to be doing surgery on my face, if I had to have it’.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am late 50's so no pregnancy plans for me! I'm thinking you mean Voltarol gel? I have a few on my trunk too so could give it a go...don't really care if it scars as always covered with clothes and then if that works then have a go on my face. Mine are all just above my jawline at the side.
Thanks for the recommendation of a clinic too.
