Nice ski wear

Where can I find some that isn't going to knock me sideways by the cost?

Also for a seven day ski trip, how much kit do I need?

I'm a complete novice.

TK Maxx, Tog 24, Decathlon

All cheap as chips and do the job.

For a week, you need ski trousers and jacket, 2 long-johns and several base layer vests. I buy merino base layers which can be worn for a couple of days without going stinky. Depending on the weather, you may want to wear a fleece midlayer... you also need gloves, goggles and helmet. Oh and socks..3 pairs of ski socks is enough for me... you can wash and dry them if necessary in your bathroom. I can never find anything in tk maxx. Amazon and cotswold have tonnes of everything. Decathlon do cheap merino base layers....

Normally unaffordable but currently have a sale.

Uniqlo is cheap for base layers - I wear their heattech stuff for skiing and under normal clothes too in the winter. If you're a novice get stuff that you'll wear for other things too. M&S thermal leggings can be work under tunics and dresses and repurposed under salopettes for skiing.

I don't give a shit if I'm stinky for skiing so I usually take 3 heattech vests, two pairs of thermal leggings, two warm running tops (also used for running) and if it's really cold I have a thin polo neck as an extra layer but rarely wear it.

Unless you're going very high or to American that should be sufficient for even the coldest alpine holiday.

I lived in Uniqlo heattech and fleece tops for 7 days...in the evening and breakfast too. Their flannel shirts are great for non-skiing time and also their Blocktech trousers with fleece lining.
My ski stuff is from Decathlon, the warmest jacket there I found perfect. I wore Aldi base layers and socks too but I think you may be too late for these.

I got most of my kids stuff off eBay

Aldi currently have a sale on their ski gear!

You could be like me and have enough thermal base layer tops for a fresh one every day. Ditto socks, although thermal trousers I make last 2 days... Or you could be like stinky dh and only take 2 of everything. He says if you alternate tops it's fine. It isn't. He's wrong. Still love him but don't want to huddle on a gondola with him.

Agree with all the recommendations above. Also suggest Dare2Be. Quite affordable and decent quality. I have their salopettes and they're just as good as my Columbia ones but cost far less.
