Weird shaped boobs

This is really embarrassing but does anyone else have triangle shaped boobs. I still feel like a teenager Sad. I’m only a 34A so I can’t wear anything low cut and can’t seem to find a bra that fits me properly. I was hoping they’d fill out a bit in pregnancy/after birth but nope.

I usually wear padded or push up bras and people still comment that I have small boobs Sad. Bikini shopping fills me with dread, thank god for the high neck bikini trend!

Does anyone else have this problem?

If it says you’re a 30E, get a 30E! Can you get to a Bravissimo?

The band size makes such a different to the cup, as this picture shows, it’s not the same cup on a bigger or smaller band.

I find this calculator easier to use

booborbust.com

So many people saying ‘but a smaller band wouldn’t do up around me’ - it’s probably because the cup was too small. The volume changes with the cup size

ifancyachinese · 01/03/2018 22:24

I just tried using the link by the pp a few messages up. I'm a 30 D by that?! That seems insane to me I am SO flat chested.

I usually wear a 32b, my measurement around my back is quite small I'm a 6-8 clothing and have been told I have a narrow back so under was 26.5 and widest part bent over was 30.5.

That measurement can't be right surely?! I vaguely remember being measured once years ago (they grown little since then Blush and the 'old way' it was an A cup

MoleGrey · 01/03/2018 22:34

Boob or bust measuring is much more accurate. I am a size 10 and went from a 34D to a 30FF. I can't even put my old bras on any more, they are so uncomfortable and my boobs look horrendous in them. I don't have big boobs.

If your ribcage measures 30 inches, then you need a 30 band. If you can get a non-stretchy tape measure around you, you can get an elasticated strap around you. As a PP said, if the cup size is too small it will make the band feel too tight as your breast tissue is squashed into the band rather than sitting in the cup.

It will change your life!

ifancyachinese · 01/03/2018 22:39

This is amazing!

I feel like I should go and get measured properly as I'm likely doing something wrong. Do most shops measure the 'old' way though?

Furball · 01/03/2018 22:43

Bravisimo is your best bet - you may need to make an appointment

Furball · 01/03/2018 22:43

avoid M& S

Ollivander84 · 01/03/2018 22:44

I'm a size 14/16 and wear a 32 band
Posted this before but this is me in a 34 band showing the room at the back of the band (I dropped to a 32 after weight loss)

ifancyachinese · 01/03/2018 22:47

This sounds silly but I always through bravissimo is for bigger bust and I would be laughed out the shop!

Foggymist · 01/03/2018 22:53

OP do you have tubular breasts? Just when you say they're triangular I thought that might be it?

EnidButton · 01/03/2018 23:30

You don't have weirdcshaped boobs OP. Everyone's are different. There's a website somewhere with pics of hundreds of women to demonstrate how different we are all. Shape and size varies massively. Don't put yourself down.

EnidButton · 01/03/2018 23:30

*everyone is different

CountFosco · 02/03/2018 07:04

They are for D cup plus. But look at the models, none of them have enormous boobs, once you measure the correct way there aren't many people who are smaller than a D cup.

woodhill · 02/03/2018 08:12

Which website Enid

Yazoop · 02/03/2018 08:27

Does John Lewis measure the "old" way then?

I was measured there last week and they gave me a 34F. I was previously always a 34 or 36DD in Marks and Sparks but the fit was always a bit off really. I was expecting to go down a band size as I've recently lost a couple of stone in weight but JL just upped my cup size.

My under boob measurement is 30.5. I generally wear size 12 tops (14 in fitted shirts because of the norks).

The new bras at 34F seem to fit much better than my m&s ones and I was quite happy with them, but I'm wondering now if I should be trying 32FF or 30G! The band on the 34F bras feels fairly tight (but not overly so) but I guess they are new and that loosens up over time?

smallboobed · 02/03/2018 08:34

I’m not sure foggy I suppose it’s possible but either way I don’t think anything can be done about it? My only options are to live with it or get a boob job, if that would even work!

They haven’t grown since I was about 13 (started my period at 11) but I suppose that could be normal? Other women in my family are about 2 cup sizes bigger than me and seem to have more ‘normal’ boobs. I hardly produced any milk when BF either (genuinely, as no one seems to believe me when I say this!)

Thank you Enid

woodhill google ‘normal breast gallery’

I just googled images of ‘tubular breasts’ and that is exactly what mine look like Sad.

AlishaMary · 02/03/2018 08:39

@ifancyachinese those measurements make you a 26D or E but i think you’d struggle to find much in those sizes. So try a 28C/D to start with. A 30” band will be almost 4” bigger than your rib measurement so likely won’t give any decent support at all.

Hopefully someone will be along to advise on where to shop for smaller back sizes.

Foggymist · 02/03/2018 09:05

Nothing can be done about it is true (short of surgery), I just thought that if maybe it was tubular breasts it might help knowing it was a thing and others do have it too, and it might help maybe when getting fitted or buying bras to know that's what it is and getting the fit you want/need?

Naughtyfrog · 02/03/2018 09:08

Boux Avenue range goes up to 28G / 40G!

Branleuse · 02/03/2018 09:12

yeah i was thinking tuberous breasts

Furball · 02/03/2018 09:23

yazoop if you measure 30, You shouldn't be in a 34, 32 maybe, but not 34.

What measurements do you come out as by this way to measure

SwimmingInTheBlueLagoon · 02/03/2018 09:25

The right size and style bra will help shape look "normal".

I need a moulded full cup or my boobs look wide horizontally but flat vertically and droopy from the side.

Bravissimo really are amazing for finding a correctly fitting bra that flatters. Different shaped boobs need different style cups to look what we perceive to be "normal".

I don't think "normal" boobs are anywhere near as normal as we think - it's often down to the bra. I think it's also incredibly rare to have a true A or B cup.

ifancyachinese · 02/03/2018 11:56

@AlishaMary Thank you for the tip, will be going to get measured. Can't believe I've been wearing a 32 back!!

Yazoop · 02/03/2018 12:19

Thanks @furball - will definitely check it out. I'm still losing a bit of weight, so I'll probably stick to the bras I've just bought but use the tightest fitting for now until my weight settles and I'll use your method to re-measure (rather than go to one of the big shops - I think I've finally realised this is not the way to go!).

OP - please don't feel bad about your boob shape. You'd be surprised how varied boobs can be! And yours sound like a shape and size that will hold up well through the years (I imagine mine will end up down by my knees eventually Grin)
