I want to buy something with lovely colours and fabrics

Several items of my clothing are wearing out at once, particularly the clothes I wear to work. I am going to start a new job soon and would like some new bits and pieces.
I am a pear shaped 12-14, 5’7. A bit overweight, but I think I carry it well. Early 40’s.

I really want a couple of items that make me feel ‘ooh’ - something textured, silky or velvety, or perhaps a really interesting dress or skirt. I don’t mind a slight ‘alternative’ feel. Just a bit tired of the ‘same old, same old’.

As a result of this thread I have just purchased this kimono jacket from One Hundred Stars. The colours appealed to me. I will be wearing it with a black vest top and black cropped jeans come Spring. I hope it does not swamp me - they seem to do a One size fits all (8-18).

What about Nomads? They've got a sale on at the moment. I've just ordered this beautiful coat that I've been eyeballing for a long while. The picture doesn't do it justice. In real life the background grey is a lovely soft grey and the top colours of crimsons and ambers are so vibrant. I can't wait to get my hands on it 😍

Oh dear. Thanks to this thread, it seems I have a Venice map dressing gown on the way.

Timefortea - that´s the one I chose too! Although I was sorely tempted by the green stork one.

I have eyed up that Nancy Mac jacket before. It´s lovely but I can´t justify the cost.

Nancy Mac also have one called Juno which is a bit more modern in styling.

Margaritas - I love the green one too. If the first one suits me I am going to buy another one. I have seen these in a gift shop before (Think it was Wakehurst Place, a Kew and National Trust garden) but I am usually dressed in walking trousers and boots so can never be bothered to try anything on.
