Prewalker shoes

My son is 12 months and is walking around holding onto things. He has slippers and shoes with a light grip but nothing major.

Would anyone suggest that I get him measured and fitted correctly for prewalkers or should I just wait until his walking properly?

IMO i think they are a waste of money until they need the protection of shoes for outside. Years ago prewalker shoes weren't around and everybody learnt to walk. I would save your money and wait until your son is walking properly, their feet grow so quickly.

Thanks for your reply. I really just need something to stop my LO slipping of the laminate flooring.

No shoes is best. Their feet have more “non slip” than any indoor shoe. Their feet have space to develop and muscles get stronger.

Wait for now. You have years of shelling out for shoes ahead! I had these sock with a suede bottom with rubber bits on the soles for ds- I think they were called Mocasocks.

He should be able to grip the floor with bare feet but just get some socks with the knobbly rubbery bits on them for grip if not.

Shoes are a complete waste of money until they are walking confidently enough to walk around outside. Prewalkers/pram shoes are pointless for anything other than fashion purposes.

All the advice about footwear for children is let them go barefoot as much as possible for as long as possible.

If you use eBay, try the Dotty Fish outlet on there. They sell leather plimsolls for about a fiver a pair which are great for grip on wooden and tiled floors. We used them on my Daughter from 6 months, only got her shoes when she was walking outside but she still wears her plimsolls inside. They're factory seconds but look new.

Thanks guys for the suggestions.

I didn't want anything hard so I have been looking for slipper socks.
