Has anyone ever ordered from pure? I get their catalogues all the time but I'm not sure. What is their customer service like? Their sizing? Their quality? Ease of Returns etc? Thanks

I've had a few things from them. Their customer service is really good - they accidently sent me the wrong size (right size on plastic wrapper, wrong size actual garment) and they sent the right one out immediately I rang and just told me to return the wrong size when I had time. The last cashmere cardigan I bought from them has gone quite bobbly but I think it'll be ok when I wash and defuzz it. I love their clothes but always wait for sales or reductions. I think they generally do free returns

pointyshoes · 26/02/2018 16:21

Meant to say, their sizing seems fairly standard to me. If you're near a John Lewis they carry some of the range so you can always try on there to get an idea before you order

I’ve had a few cashmere jumpers from them and the quality is good. Better than M&S and Boden I’d say.

I had a cardigan from them that bobbled terribly after just 1 wear and it didn’t feel as nice as the jumpers. I returned it and they refunded me without argument.

In terms of sizing, they’re standard apart from the cropped cashmere jumpers and cardigans that come up small. I size up in them to be able to wear a shirt under.

They send lots of discounts and offers so never pay full price

Thank you

I’ve bought lots of jersey tops and other bits. Lovely quality and excellent customer service.

GrannyGrissle · 27/02/2018 20:56

They are fab. Fast delivery, items in my opinion true to size, lovely quality and even better in the sale

taytotayto111 · 28/02/2018 22:14

I only buy in the sale, their customer service is great especially when I complained about an issue I had with a call handler. I must admit I’m just about to send back a cashmere poncho I’ve only worn about 5 times. I washed it yesterday and found a hole, was told send it back for inspection. I hope it’s fixed without argument as I know I didn’t put the hole there.
I bought a silk dress at the same time which was £150 down to £60. I just sewed a hole near the pocked. I’ve been unlucky I think. I wouldn’t say the quality is omg amazing but if bought in the sale they are worth it. Be sure to look online for a discount code and go through a cash back website for a further discount. I use quidco but I’m sure others are good too.

I've bought a few thin sweaters to wear underneath things as a base layer. 2 I particularly like:

  1. A "ballet top" - really thin stretchy fabric, but nice and warm when worn under another top
  2. A pale grey polo neck - so comfortable and goes under pretty much anything.
MoorMummy · 28/02/2018 22:30

The only thing is no free delivery and at £5 its a lot of you are only buying one item.

taytotayto111 · 01/03/2018 13:13

ALWAYS do a quick search online for free delivery. It nearly always works for me, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever paid for delivery from pure as it drives me insane. I just bought a necklace recently from jaeger that I’d been lusting after. It was reduced from £50 to £12.50 with extra discounts but I had to pay £4 postage on something that would fit in a tiny envelope, but it was still a good price.

Chocolateteabag · 01/03/2018 14:19

I like their stuff - but I am registered twice with them under married and maiden names - so I get two copies of their catalogues everytime they send them out.
Married me usually gets the 25% offer, single me gets the 40% offer - it really annoys me that they have tiers of customers getting differentiated like this - so haven't bought anything from them for ages.

Plus my gassato cardigans and jumpers have bobbled like nothing else!

Is their cashmere ethically sourced?

From the Oxfam website...

Much of our cashmere used to be spun in Scotland, but by 2004 restrictions on cashmere imports had been lifted and spotting demand, China rushed in and flooded the market with cheap cashmere sweaters. There are now more than 2000 cashmere companies in China. PETA warn that many Asiatic cashmere goats live in atrocious conditions on factory farms. Others, whilst left to wonder free, are having disastrous effects on the environment due to their large numbers. The Alashan Plateau which extends from the Tibetan Plateau northward into Mongolia's Gobi Desert was home to 2.4 million Gobi goats in the 90s and now accommodates 26 million. What should be grassland areas are turning to dust and desert at the rate of 400 square miles a year, disrupting the ecosystem and causing severe dust pollution. Already desertification is causing millions of rural Chinese to migrate from their villages.

Just had a look at their information, pleased to see that yes they are using ethically sustainable cashmere.

From their website....

We've been pioneering sustainable cashmere farming since 2008."

GOAT TO GARMENT

Our cashmere is sourced from goats in Mongolia. From the beginning we’ve nurtured relationships with our herders and worked directly with them, so we can ensure superb quality at a price that’s fair and right.
Sustainable Cashmere

Pure Collection has been at the forefront of sustainable farming since 2008, pioneering a farming programme which tackles the root cause of desertification caused by overgrazing in the Mongolian grasslands. By providing an incentive for herders to feed their goats on a nutritious feed, grazing on ecologically sensitive grasslands is minimise.

prettywhiteguitar · 01/03/2018 16:33

Cashmere always bobbles you have to comb it nearly every time you wear it at first, that's why it's so warm ! It's all the tiny fibres

I think it's good quality, I have a few cardigans and jumpers lasted years and still look great
