Hair is damaged and I'm not sure what to do with it

So I've had a lot of different hair colours in past 12 years or so. It was orginally dark brown then i dyed it Blonde, red, blue, Purple, green/blue, ombre, grey/silver and finally a medium brown. Now my hair probably hates me for all I've put it through. Since dying it brown about a year ago and saying I wouldn't dye it again, the ends of my hair have turned blonde again. My hair doesn't grow very quickly anymore, it used to be nearly down to my waist but I've had to have quite a few inches cut off many times to get rid of split ends after not going to the hairdressers for months. so I'm a bit cautious about cutting it shorter. Besides I have very thick curly hair so I don't think I would look right with short hair. I at least want to wait until it's grown a bit more which may be a while. Are there any treatment for damaged hair that I could try?

Protein sprays can really help. Also try some of the glossing conditioners, which fill the hair shaft better, helping to improve the appearance.

I've used mayonnaise before, which has egg in it (protein) which makes it a good conditioner.

Do you use heat to dry and style it? The very best thing for hair is to reduce time/contact with any heat sources.

Kerastase does a green range that's been incredible for my hair at times when it's felt damaged. The cement thermique is particularly good.

Philip Kingsley does a range of Elasticizer that's good, too, especially if you leave it on overnight and let it work it's magic.

Biotin supplements can help, too.

I bleached my hair to within an inch of its life about a year ago and it was in awful condition, I have managed to get it back by using coconut oil as a mask twice a month (put shampoo on before water or you won't get it out) then using a few products from bleach london which are really affordable. I use the reincarnation mask every other time I wash my hair, once my hair is towel dried I use their hair elixir oil and once dried I use their leave it yeah leave in conditioner. You can buy it all in Superdrug and boots and it's about £6 for each product. Honestly the best high street brand hair products I have ever used.

olaplex 1 & 2

Olaplex- seconded. I was on a chemo drug AND bleached my hair- not recommended. Olaplex once a week recused my hair and the texture was amazing.
