Hair Straighteners...recommendations needed

My trusty GHDs which I have used almost daily since 2005 recently died and while I will see if these can be repaired to use as a spare...my partner has rather generously offered to buy me a new pair for my upcoming birthday...so help me flex his plastic.

My shoulder length fairly fine (but a lot of it) hair is straight-ish but hella frizzy when blow dried so it needs a run through with straighteners. I mostly opt for just straight but will occasionly add a wave.

I have heard mixed reviews about GHDs and their rival Cloud Nine...what do you recommend?

Thanks.

I wrote almost exactly your post about 6 weeks ago, after a false start with some Nicky Clarke's that I didn't like I ended up with these, I'm really impressed with them and they're so much better than my old ghd's which really surprised me!

GHD gold for me. Have not tried cloud nine but I'm really happy with the ghds!

Interesting. Thankyou. I loved my GHDs and they might be able to be repaired...but I wondered if new would mean better.

My sister has had at least 3 pairs of GHDs in the same time as I had my originals, 2 of which stopped working. She now loves her Cloud Nines but when I used them I thought they were a bit meh for the price...maybe I am too brand biased.

Anyone else a Remington convert?

I've got them all. I can't resist a new styling tool. The Remingtons are surprisingly good, but the best ones are the Babyliss Titanium Pro ones. They're about fifty quid on Amazon and they are incredible. They straighten well, have heat settings and glide through the hair. I love them so much I bought a back up pair in case theses break!

I've got T3 they are really good. I'm going to Japan in May and these have 100-240v so I can use them anywhere.

Funnily enough my Tresemme quick purchase (because my luggage and ghds were lost) have been the best by a mile. Same temps, same plates, fab. 2066U £35 on Amazon

Thankyou for your replies...it is soo hard to choose but it seems that it might well be worth considering a non GHD alternative...plus the saving could mean sneaking in a new perfume to the birthday list ;)

Cloud nine, definitely.. They sort out my wavey boff and keep it straight 👍🏼

I remember sali Hughes recommending some ones called something like corioliss c2. Never tried them, but she knows her stuff

My 2005 ghds gave up the ghost earlier this year too and I've replaced them with Cloud9 Touch which I love!
