Moisturiser for mature dry skin?

Can anybody recommend a moisturiser for dry skin?

It's mainly my forehead which gets really dry. Not sure if I'm coming up to menopause but any I use seem to soak in straight away then goes dry again.

Maybe a facial oil would be better? I use a Clarins one overnight, then Boots Protect and Perfect serum in the morning, has made a big difference to my dehydrated skin.

L'occitane immortelle range - the yellow jar.

Have you tried Astral as a night cream? Honestly I swear by it. It's cheap and really works for very dry skin.

Bejazzled I have been using Body Shop Oils of Life. At first I was mixing the oil with the moisturiser, now just using the oil straight on but doesn't seem to feel moist for long.

littlepeas Love L'occitane, will have a look online.

Two my DM swears by Astral, has used it for 50 years. Don't know why I didn't think of trying it myself Smile

I'm using Olay 3 point Regenerist which is off Amazon for about £12 compared to the RRP of £30.

I also love Clinique Smart moisturisers especially the ones for dry and very dry skin but they are £40-ish.

Put back some good fats into your diet- avocado, salmon and sardines, walnuts and almonds- you need to feed skin from the inside- and give up. reduce sugar.

Avene hydrance riche from the pharmacy. Or even their Night cream.

Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance is the best I have found.

If you try Astral and don't get on with it then try Nivea cream in the dark blue pot. Cheap as chips and very moisturising.

I am 52 and have dry skin and alternate between Astral and the L'Occitane Divine cream and oil. I also have the BS Oils of Life you mention.

My skin definitely feels more plumped in the morning after an oil- remember you can put an oil on after a moisturiser. I also have the Nivea Q10 cream which tbh, is fine for £4.99.

I love love love the L'Occitane, but at about £60 a pot it's a special treat a couple of times a year. (buy online, there are always discounts knocking around and on ebay you can buy samples of the range which work out loads cheaper)

Another one I really rate is Neal's Yard Frankincense, been using it on and off for almost 30 years.

I can highly recommend the L’Occitane Divine cream, I know if £74 but you can use it as a day & night cream & does last a good length of time. You will be able to get some samples, once tried you’ll be addicted, the smell is amazing too. I wouldn’t use anything else now Smile

£74 for the L'Occitane is a bit steep for me, but just found a voucher code for £20 off!!

Fab that you’ve found a voucher Smile Def try it first though before you buy (L’Occitane are great for giving samples). It’s just finding the right product for you. Good luck Smile Let us know how you get on.

If you order from their website, you always get something free, not just samples, there will always be some sort of free gift for spending over £40 or whatever.
