Lash extensions

Good idea?
Do they require much maintenance?

My lashes are lacking massively in volume so could do with a little something to bring them back to life.

Any tips on trusted places around Kent/in London to go to get them done?

Lots of maintenance and can cause more damage to Natural lash. Have you tried lash serums like Revitalash? I think extensions are ok for weddings, parties etc but not long term and definitely not as a treatment to try and get your lashes nicer

I had them for a couple of months and they do look amazing when they’re first done.. but within a week a lot will have fallen out and require at least fortnightly infills which is time consuming and expensive. I hated when they were sparse and felt they looked a bit daft. When I had them taken off I was shocked at the damage done to my lashes.. they were short, straight and bare.. I could’ve cried. Avoid and look at natural products and mascaras

ohbitchplease · 18/02/2018 20:43

Christ...save your money and your lashes and get some decent eyelash curlers and mascara. Lancôme Hypnose Drama works amazingly for me but it's horses for courses.

Eyelash extensions ruined my lashes; and I had them done properly and looked after them. Just invest in curlers and mascara. Sticking hairs onto natural hairs is never going to end well.

Rhodes2015again · 18/02/2018 20:53

what about LVL treatment?
It’s about £45 lasts about 6 weeks and it’s a natural lash lift on your own lashes.
I have the most pathetic non existent lashes but after they looked amazing!
Also I actually fell asleep when I had it done it was really relaxing.

Pumpkinisland89 · 18/02/2018 21:25

I've had them and have another appointment booked in to get them again.

Agree that maitanence can be a pain. I'm lucky because 3 week top ups are fine for me.

The last time I had them done they damaged my lashes but that was because I decided to take them off myself. Bad idea!

I always fall asleep when I have them done! It's embarrassing. Haha!

You get different types. I've had the ones where you get a couple of lashes put on one lash and that was a bit too much for me. I'm getting one lash per lash this time.

Russian lashes. Pricey but so pretty

itwillbegrandsure · 19/02/2018 18:50

So the general consensus is to avoid! Sad

I don't like that they might damage my own lashes so much. I don't have many to begin with!

Rhodes - LVL sounds like an option. Might look into that.

Russian lashes sound like they might also cause some damage but I'll look into them a bit more.

Thanks all!

Get some revitalash. I've used it for years. Yes It's pricey but cheaper than maintenance of extensions.

lashestans · 20/02/2018 13:38

They don't damage your lashes at all as long as they are applied and removed by a professional and maintained as per instructions

BuzzKillington · 20/02/2018 13:44

I had them for the first time at the beginning of December.

I had the shortest ones they do, as I hate that really artificial look. They looked bloody amazing and everyone was asking me what mascara I use!

I was surprised at how long they lasted - about 2 months in total without any infills. I was worried I'd have bare patches in my own lashes afterwards but didn't have any.

I can see how people get addicted to them.

itwillbegrandsure · 22/02/2018 16:25

The plan would have been to get them done as a one-off (holiday coming up) but now I'm not so sure! Though I'm liking hearing about the positive experiences..!

I'm guessing it matters as to whether you go to a well known reputable place v going to a place on your local high street?

I've had mine done twice, the first time they lasted around 1-2 weeks. I thought they looked pretty good, though a little bit too fake for what I personally wanted. I wanted a 'good mascara day' look but instead looked like I was wearing fake lashes.

The second time I got them done the day before going on holiday and they'd mostly fallen out within a couple of days. My boyfriend kept asking why there were so many eyelashes on the bathroom sink! After that, I stopped getting them done. I had to pay a decent amount for them (can't remember exactly - maybe £40 each time) and I didn't have the time to keep getting them infilled. She talked me through how lashes grow in cycles so if they didn't last long it could just be that lots of my natural lashes were about to fall out when I got them done. Not sure how true this is or if she was just saying it to get me to go back!

I'd definitely recommend paying a little extra for a good experience if you choose to get them done. They didn't damage my natural eyelashes at all.

Mine after a few days. I'm a bit shiney! 😁

I don't think they have that fake look? If I'm delusional tell me though!

I've had them before and they've been nicer than this but I can't put my finger on why. Possibly the shape?

itwillbegrandsure · 05/03/2018 21:59

@Pumpkinisland89 - they don't look fake at all! Look fab!

I've decided to go for lvl (or lash perm as they're calling it) and see what that's like. I don't think I could be faffed with the maintenance of fake lashes at the moment so hopefully this option will be just as good!

Booked for Wednesday!
