So I’ve worked outside for the past 15yrs. Think waterproof jacket/trousers, thermals, walking trousers, wellies, walking boots, buoyancy aids and harnesses and helmets!

I start my pgce in Sept as a geography teacher, I’ve never worked indoors before, so this is my chance to actually wear nice stuff for a change Smile

It’s got to be smart casual, definitely no heels, and maybe partial to a tweed jacket with elbow pads Wink

Please recommend some shops! I’m not really a fan of high street/supermarket, I’d like to have a small wardrobe of good quality, versatile, and NO NO patterns/Flor ally stuff! (Although I’ll push at stripes! But do prefer plain).
Nothing too bright either, I like dark earthy tones, and although not adventurous or quirky with my clothes I do prefer kind of crunchy type clothing.

Any help of where to shop, preferably online! Would be a great help!
Also, if anyone is near Kendal/Lancaster.... Any independent shops I must try?

Thanks!

Crunchy meaning kind of organic, eco friendly, soft kind of stuff.

Peopletree, Thought clothing

Great Plains might suit - good plain jersey tops and dresses in dark colours. They do really good sale discounts as well.

Ooh, i do like Peopletree! I forgot about them. Thanks.

Thanks hobbes I’ll take a look!

Try Rohan quite expensive but I only buy in the sales. Their clothes are well cut comfortable washes well and don't need ironing. My ds says all his geography teachers wear Rohan!

White company, Toast, Hobbs? what about googling to see what brands pop up?

GeorgeTheHippo · 18/02/2018 17:04

Clarks will be good for shoes, and M and S do good loafers (? Not your style) with the insolia footbed which is really comfy if you are going to be on your feet a lot.

Redwineistasty · 18/02/2018 17:15

Haha champagne I have a fair bit of Rohan, but have always stuck to their base layers. Will have a more detailed look, thanks.

I will do some googling.
Thanks all

Get down to the jigsaw outlet in cheshire oaks, loads of earthy tones, good prices, dresses around the £50 mark.

Turbinaria · 18/02/2018 17:41

Quite like this Rohan dress in the sale. Dress up dress down add scarf tights and boots and you're ready to go
