Skincare to help with excema?

I've always had dry, ezcema prone skin, but it eased for a while. Now it is back and nothing bar strong steroids or Dermalogica seems to help.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I’ve been using Aveeno on my arms/body and La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra on my face which so far seems to be calming my dry, sensitive, eczema prone skin

Littlemissamy · 18/02/2018 12:32

I suffer with eczema quite badly and there’s very little that keeps it under control. I moisturise with Aveeno twice a day and only use micellar water to wash my make up off. I also got Protopic cream on prescription and use that twice a day - half an hour after the Aveeno. It keeps it as minimal as its ever been! I only use B.B. cream instead of foundation 👎🏼
Aside from the skincare, have you had food allergy blood tests? After suffering for many years, I finally had blood testing done via a dermatologist and it turns out I have a nut allergy. It makes perfect sense, and I can tell when there’s peanuts about because it makes my skin flare up instantly!

Thanks both, will look into them.

Is that a night cream Gilbert? Or is there a range?

It’s a range I have the day and the night cream

Eucerin is great.

They have very rich creams containing urea, but they don't clog pores

DianaT1969 · 18/02/2018 23:43

If you google reviews for creams containing 20% urea I think you'll see the are effective. Cheap too. Around £3.50 in superdrug on the cracked heel shelf.

I use Clinique take the day off balm and LRP toleriane dermo to cleanse, and epaderm to moisturise, and aveeno shower gel and moisturiser for my body

The best thing for my eczema was to give up wheat and dairy, sugar is problematic too - but I struggle to give it up completely. Avoiding SLS in shampoos and shower gels. I moisturise with Aveeno, have done for ages.

Rhubarbginmum · 19/02/2018 08:45

I have extremely dry skin due to a health condition & mild excema on my upper arms only. Wilko’s Stock it.
I found the Aveeno (with the navy blue colour) to work exceptionally well. The Aveeno light spray bottle with the green trim really irritated my skin so I would avoid that one.

hugoagogo · 19/02/2018 08:54

Eucerin is the best thing I have found, my face is flake free. I like this one

Thanks everyone, some great things to try! When pregnant with #3 my skin turned into an oil slick, it was very odd having the opposite problem to deal with. But literally a week after he was born it had turned 360. 😂

I use Skinfix cleanser and moisturiser. They come in massive tubs so last for ever. You can get it from Boots.
