OMG Frownies where have you been all my life?

I have '11's between my brows and they make me look cross, old, tired when I'm not. Ok I am old as in 46/7 but the rest of my face isn't too bad. I had never heard of these little patches until I watched that Kay Mellor series 'Girlfriends' and one of the characters was wearing them. I really am scared of Botox so thought I'd try them. I'm a week in and I can't believe the difference. I've used them overnight and once for a few hours before a night out and the reduction in line depth is great. Anyone else a convert?

What are these? I don't have 11s but I do have a line going horizobtally between my eyes that looks like the start of becoming a klingon

What are they op??

Rhodes2015again · 18/02/2018 09:30

Going to google now!
I’m only 33 and have really bad 11’s. have had Botox before but just had a baby and now on maternity leave so can’t be shelling money out for that.
I’ve just ordered nip+fab frown fix. It’s not come yet but I’m sceptical.

Apparently you can get different ones for different lines. They are really basic(so should be cheap but not) just a piece of thick adhesive backed paper/card that you moisten with water then stick to wrinkle after smoothing the line out. They dry and stop you from frowning so relax the muscle. It's temporary so won't last all day but others say over time that it has softened. all I can say is, no cream or facial has ever had this effect and it's totally harmless. I'm in!

Rhodes I like nip and fab products. I have their dragon's blood serum and another product I can't remember. They are good but this is so effective. I am actually tempted to wear them all day when at home.

Used them for years and I do find the effect wears off a couple of hours after waking up but a good alternative to Botox

MsHarry · 18/02/2018 10:44

huff have they reduced the line over time?

margaritasbythesea · 18/02/2018 13:19

Interesting but pricey!

MsHarry · 18/02/2018 13:40

Yes they are BUT how much do we spend on serums and the like? Never had this much effect. Some people have tried surgical tape and got similar effects but the paper is quite stiff so not sure if it would work so well. Wondering if there are cheaper versions out there?

So I'm 22 and I just have a 1 on one side 😬

Snaffoncrassin · 18/02/2018 21:55

I've used them off and on for a few years too. I find they've not reduced the line over time but perhaps they would be slightly worse if I didn't use them at all.

acornsandnuts · 18/02/2018 21:57

I tried them but was very allergic. Something in the glue so not for everyone

Ollivander84 · 18/02/2018 22:24

OP - if it helps, I was scared of Botox! I'm 33 and have just had Azzalure (like Botox) in my 11 and forehead lines. Best thing ever

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 18/02/2018 22:38

Disappointed with my Botox was expecting so much but got so little back for the amount I spent.

Sitranced · 18/02/2018 22:41

Duct tape would probably do the same thing

RoderickRules · 18/02/2018 23:23

Surgical tape maybe?
Micropore type?

MyBrilliantDisguise · 18/02/2018 23:27

So what do you do? Stick that to your face for a while, then rip it off and put on your make up?

Qvar · 18/02/2018 23:28

I wonder if hydrocolloidal blister plasters would work?

MsHarry · 19/02/2018 07:35

Oh definitely no ripping!! You cleanse, wet back of triangle, open up the crease and slap it on. Hold it in place then it dries firm and you can’t frown easily. You look like you belong to a cult but you’re in bed! In the morning you soak it(I just shower and it slides off) with a flannel or muslin cloth if you’re posh or like me you got Liz Earle polishing kit for Christmas. It’s like magic. I don’t care if it’s not permanent, it’s better than anything that doesn’t involve neeedles and it’s affordable.

I used to use them but now I just use boots surgical tape. Or indeed double sided art tape. It works the same.

LanguidLobster · 19/02/2018 12:22

I've got some in storage somewhere from years ago Grin

If I can find them I'll give them a whirl

babyl0ve · 19/02/2018 12:30

If you’re scared of Botox try Linda Meredith V Tox too. It’s amazing!

MsHarry · 19/02/2018 13:15

Is surgical tape like micropore as I don’t think that’s stiff enough. I will try that or the art tape when these get low before I buy more. Interested to learn more about v tox.

Wearing the frowning has made me hyper aware of when I frown because you feel your muscles trying to contract. This is making me try to break the habit. Bit late at 46 ! Just looked up v tox, at£99 a jar it’s too pricey for me. Interesting to hear that Botox doesn’t always work for everyone.
