Bra for teenager with sensory issues?

TheSecondOfHerName · 15/02/2018 16:35

DD is 13, has sensory processing disorder, and some autistic traits.

She tried wearing a bra a couple of years ago, but found them uncomfortable and has been wearing crop tops / yoga bras since then.

Now that she is bigger, she is open to the idea of trying a bra so long as it doesn't feel scratchy or uncomfortable.

She would not be able to cope with a bra fitting in a shop, but was happy for me to measure her.

Her underbust is 33 inches, and the widest part (leaning forwards at 90 degrees) is 38 inches. Am I right in thinking this is 34D or 32DD?

I'd like to find her something that's a bit more supportive than a crop top / yoga bra, but still soft and comfortable.

Any ideas?

I also like the m and s sumptuously soft bras! There’s not a huge range of styles/colours but they’re great.

How about Molke? They're advertised a lot for BF but I wear them at home and lots of people use them as they're so comfy

I bought a Victoria’s Secret t shirt bra this week and it is seriously the most comfortable thing ever!! The fabric is really smooth and soft. It was not cheap but I had two for £50.

This is it and the pants are soooooo comfy!!

Thank you - these suggestions look really good.

I have some sensory issues and M and S sports bras are good for me but everyone’s different. Could you order a few and let her try them on at home and return the ones she doesn’t want.

This is what I'm hoping to do. Smile

Genuinely wearing the victorias secret logo tshirt bra above and they are so comfy.

I would probably get a couple of the sports bras for Peacocks (other shops may do the same sort of thing but I'm most familiar with theirs) that have the same kind of shaped, spongey cups as a t-shirt bra, but no wires. They will give more support than a crop top but they don't chafe at all. If she turns out to love them, they come in lots of styles, some of them wonderfully colourful.

I second those comfort ones from Asda. I wore them when I was BF. I have sensory issues and honestly, they are so comfy and cheap too. Usually come in Black, white and nude.
